Texas Guitar Army has launched an Indiegogo campaign to help raise funding to record and film efforts to include concert DVDs, a documentary, live and studio material on both physical and figural formats as well as the initial staging of a Guitar Army Festival, a guitar music and lifestyle festival which would seek to play in North America and Europe initially, followed by a run of dates throughout South East Asia, Central and South America. Have guitar, will travel!
Indiegogo is an International crowd-funding website that allows the Texas Guitar Army as well as other creative artists to raise money from people all over the world by promoting their creative projects. Crowd-funding gives people the opportunity to network and pool money for creative projects.
The intent of the Texas Guitar Army is to launch and support the Global War on Mainstream Music and the fight for freedom and expression in the battle against the evils of commercialized, over-processed, under delivered music through separate divisional fronts.
The first divisional front is the building of a Texas-style Army of influential guitarists that run the gamut of styles, age and experience that will thrill the masses while highlighting the skills and techniques of each unique and amazing guitarist. Think of the Texas Guitar Army as a diverse, musician driven vehicle, featuring an array of name and up and coming talent.
The plan is to schedule a hand-full of initial warm-up dates in three or four Texas cities as well as Las Vegas and Los Angeles in the fall of 2013. The dates with also feature handpicked young guitarists, the Young Guns Army in support, representing the millennial generation of guitar players.
Texas Guitar Army also plans to develop the project into a second divisional front in 2014; a guitar lifestyle global festival focusing on artists, artist musical stages in many genres and vendors featuring the latest gear and accessories – a cross between the Warp Tour and NAMM, the National Association of Music Merchants.
“We are excited about this opportunity with Indiegogo and about the development of the project,” said HeXx Henderson, Lap Steel Guitar pioneer and founding member of the Texas Guitar Army. “We have outlined many ways that people can become part of our project, which is about plugging fans directly into to the live music and guitar experience. Shows will feature the Texas Guitar Army as well as other known guitarists and bands with historic guitar players.” HeXx added, “fans will have the opportunity to meet many of the participating musicians, watch equipment product presentations and instructional clinics where they can learn the tricks and techniques of today’s top players.” That’s not all says HeXx Henderson, “fans will have the opportunity to view and test drive the latest and greatest musical equipment from the all levels of equipment dealers from all over the world.”
Anyone can be a part of this project by choosing how much they want to be involved; funding options range from $1 – $10,000 with a campaign goal of $50,000. Funds raised from the campaign will help pay for things like: The campaign also gives funders the option to receive perks with their donation.
