Christmas time has come and even Helsinki Vampires THE 69 EYES are ready to celebrate! Today, the Finns launch their music video for their new digital single ‘Christmas In New York City’. The video is filmed and directed by Ville Juurikkala, known from his previous work with THE 69 EYES, HIM, NIGHTWISH and AMORPHIS. See the band rocking out in their most festive way below.

“Dear Vampires, This is about the last thing we haven’t done yet – a Christmas song! This is also our “thank you for a great year” for YOU, dear vamps! I think this as our tribute to the Ramones and New York which both have been our main influences. This might be the best 69 Eyes song actually as well – if you liked ”Lost Boys” or ”Never Say Die”…

THE 69 EYES: Drummer Jussi 69 Launches Finnish Liquor

A brand new drink spiced up with licorice and chilli was introduced in early April to the lovers of liquor with spice and attitude. The black and stylish bottle is easily recognizable thanks to the face of a well known rock star: The 69 EYES drummer, media personality and restaurant entrepreneur Jussi 69 gives his face to the new drink. The liquor has an alcoholicity of 21‰.

It is made in Porvoo, Finland, by Scandinavian Wine & Spirits, a producer and importer of mild and strong alcoholic products. The chairman of company’s board, Kari Uimonen, sums up the production process:

“The liquor was completed at the end of 2016 after which we started thinking out the strategy for its international sales. From the get go we knew that such an original product demanded a very unique face on its label. We needed a person, who would attract people both in Finland and abroad. We started a list of such people. The list turned out to be short and there was no doubt that number one on that list was Jussi 69. The drink’s dark colour and chilli flavour are pure rock, just like Jussi. Lucky for us he absolutely loved the drink and didn’t hesitate to get involved with the launch of the drink. We are very proud of the drink and excited to have Jussi promoting it with us.”

Jussi 69 didn’t hesitate to jump on board:
“I’m very honored to be involved with the launch of this drink. I’ve always loved chilli and I’m very happy with the drink’s perfect balance between the sweet licorice flavour and the hot spice of chilli. The drink gives a perfect kick, not too strong, but not too mild either. The new drink literally spices up the variety of shots in my own bar as well as everywhere else. As a restaurant owner I know very well what people like and I am absolutely certain this drink will be a hit. I cannot wait for people to get a taste of this liquor! I am very proud to be associated with such cool and stylish product. Have a drink on me!”

THE 69 EYES will also return to Italy, Spain and Germany for several headline shows throughout the next weeks, before preparing another surprise for their fans in autumn/winter of 2017.

Despite great success, SISTER SIN parted ways in late 2015 after a 13 year career. Now the former singer and major force, LIV SIN, from the former band, rises from the ashes with a new band and a whole new album.

LIV SIN’s new album “Follow Me” was released via Despotz Records April 28th 2017 and is co-produced by longtime ACCEPT and U.D.O. member Stefan Kaufmann and U.D.O. bassist Fitty Wienhold.

Liv says of the collaboration: “I’m truly excited to work with Stefan! He is an incredible musician and a longtime metal hero. I think he can bring that extra bit to my music with his lifelong experience from both ACCEPT and U.D.O.”

Kaufmann adds: “When Liv called me and asked to produce her new project together with Fitty, of course I said yes! Liv has talent, and I am sure it will be a blast.”

“Follow Me” shows the power and attitude that Liv is known for and also has featured artists such as Schmier from DESTRUCTION and Jyrki 69 from THE 69 EYES.

About Liv Sin:
From the gutters of southern Sweden, Liv Jagrell emerged as a major force as the vocalist for hard rock band SISTER SIN. Throughout their 13-year career, SISTER SIN sold thousands of records and toured the world with high-profile tours supporting the likes of SLAYER and KING DIAMOND on the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival, as well as being a part of the Revolver magazine “Hottest Chicks In Metal” tour. SISTER SIN toured relentlessly for over a decade across Europe and North America garnering an intensely loyal following of rockers that craved the band’s aggressive and melodic brand of hard rock.

When SISTER SIN called it quits at the end of 2015, Liv knew that she had much more to offer the world and her fans. From this, LIV SIN was born. She says: “For me, it has never been an option to stop singing. I live for the stage and for my fans. I still miss SISTER SIN, but I am very excited to work on my own project, and I can promise it will not be some soft pop rock. This is going to be metal deluxe, because that’s who I am!”

THE 69 EYES: Announce New European Tour Dates

With the winter coming to an end, Helsinki’s legendary vampires THE 69 EYES crawl out of their crypts and are once again ready to haunt Europe with their unique mix of gothic metal and untamed rock ‘n’ roll. After multiple dates in their home country Finland, the band invades Spain, Italy and Germany, to not only present their latest opus “Universal Monsters”to the fans, but also deliver some unforgotten evergreens.

“You need to invite a vampire come over and the vampire appears,” says singer Jyrki 69. “We promised to go wherever we have fans now and that’s what we are doing. Finland itself keeps us busy, but we’ll return to Spain, Italy and Germany before the summer. Then we have some cool Goth festivals booked and we are also playing on a continent that we haven’t visited for a long time. And the fall brings us something that I have been waiting to happen for very long time…”


While Canadian psychobilly import THE CREEPSHOW has already been announced as support act for Germany, on the Spanish dates, the band will team up with EMBELLISH and Italy will be rocked by THE STRIGAS as well as Berlin based dark rockers VLAD IN TEARS. These are the upcoming confirmed shows:

Halloween is approaching and therefore it is once again time for the Helsinki Vampires THE 69 EYES to invade Europe with their unique mix of gothic metal and gloom rock’n’roll! But first they invite you all over to New York with their brand new video for ‘Lady Darkness’, which was once again directed and filmed in a modern black&white flair by fronter Jyrki 69 himself and edited by Jimi Sero.

“I wrote the lyrics for this song about my bar life in New York City – ‘Lady Darkness’ being The Death dressed as a bar tender lady. So naturally I went to film the video there too, featuring a lot of rock’n’roll cultural sights in The Lower East Side and elsewhere in Manhattan. The main guy in the video, a modern day “Midnight Cowboy” is my friend Sam Hariss, bass player from the cool New York band THE SWEET THINGS. Other people are just my friends, I filmed it during my long weekend there in August. Once again it looks like my comics, a black/white mini movie like the earlier ones I did: ‘Jerusalem’ and ‘Miss Pastis'”, says THE 69 EYES singer Jyrki 69.

THE 69 EYES: Release ‘Dolce Vita’ Single

Founded in the Finnish capital 25 years ago, THE 69 EYES have spawned a total of ten full-length records and an additional selection of live, best-of and remastered albums. Throughout the band’s legacy THE 69 EYES have managed to thrive and reinvent their distinct blend of goth’n’roll – 2016 sees the band continue on with this legacy in the form of new album, “Universal Monsters”. The album is due for release on April 22nd via Nuclear Blast. You can now stream the second single from the album, ‘Dolce Vita‘ here:
