RAVENSCRY has released the Official Video “Noir Desire”, second single taken from the album “The Attraction Of Opposites”. The video, shot by director Matteo Terzoli, has been funded thanks to RAVENSCRY‘s fans through a crowdfunding campaign that the band has carried out on Musicraiser.
Noir Desire, a vintage sounding song, is set in the 50s and puts the spotlight on a serious problem that now affects us more and more closely: violence against women. “In this song we approach the problem from the point of view of a serial killer of women, but with a disconcerting epilogue – Ravenscry say – a different perspective from the one we have in Alive, opposite song to Noir Desire, where the violence is experienced at home, the case with the highest percentage nowadays.”
RAVENSCRY have launched a crowdfunding campagin on Musicraiser, in order to shoot the new video of the song Noir Desire, which has been chosen as second single from the album The Attraction of Opposites. The campaign will last throughout November and the video release is scheduled by mid-December. The video director will be Matteo Terzoli, who has decided to set the story in the ’50s, with a noir atmosphere.
As for the rewards offered as prizes in exchange for the contribution of the fans, they go from the download of the album’s digital version to the possibility of being one of the walk-on actors in the video, to spending a day with the band in Rome or Milan. And for the hardcore fans, there’s the offer of a private party with a live performance by the band.
RAVENSCRY‘s second album titled “The Attraction of Opposites” is out and it is N°1 on AMAZON ALTERNATIVE METAL RECORDS IN THE USA, so the band decided to thank all the fans with a special gift: the making of “Living Today”, check it out below.

Recently Ravenscry released “Missing Words” as first single, watch it here:
The video was directed by Salvatore Perrone (DevilDriver, Fleshgod Apocalypse, Empyrios, Serenity) at Alessandro Taccani hydroelectric power plant in Trezzo sull’Adda (MI).
Opposite and complementary elements, dualism of reality: these are the topics covered by Ravenscry’s The Attraction of Opposites.
A reality in front of which a man makes choices, embracing one element or the other, based on his experience and judgement. But this will inevitably led him to clash with the opposite element, causing pain. Thirteen tracks in which Ravenscry, through music and lyrics, talk about opposites as conflict and attraction, taking us to a crossroads: keep changing preference towards an element or the other, or beginning to consider the interdependence of the two polarities, realising that one cannot exist without the other and seeing a complementarity in differences, which has a creative and developmental function for life.
The band said: “The symmetrical/opposite location of the tracks means that we don’t presume to take positions on what’s right or wrong, but nonetheless we picture the personal choice as the main one: in all the lyrics there are different and subjective points of view, which all have their dignity and we simply show situations that sometimes are opposite and other times complementary and they inevitably tend to attract and confront one another. We let listeners choose their own interpretation, because the overcoming of suffering and alienation can only come from freedom. This happens in Cynic, a song that sums up the whole album’s concept.”
RAVENSCRY have chosen Missing Words as first single to introduce their new album The Attraction of Opposites, which will be released on May 27th. The video has been directed by Salvatore Perrone (DevilDriver, Fleshgod Apocalypse, Empyrios, Serenity) at Alessandro Taccani hydroelectric power plant in Trezzo sull’Adda (MI). Check it out below:
“Missing Words is about the regret of not having expressed certain feelings, that moment when you realise it’s too late to do that” says Giulia Stefani, vocalist and lyrics’ author. “In the video the protagonist is reminiscent of a person, feeling him closer to her and she regrets that she wasn’t able to express her emotions when she had the chance.”
