KARHU Guitarist JP‘s The Joseph Parry Projects (TJPP) have released the 6 track first solo EP ‘Faithless’. The tracklist consisting of; Answers, Faithless, 10, Life Without The Light, Magoove and Being Grounded, contains everything from whispers to haunting death growl harmonies alongside classic rock and ‘hair metal’ vocals, while musically visiting every corner of the Rock and Metal genres.

‘Faithless’ harbours a wide dynamic range of metal styles, showing the ‘Prog’ influences that have inspired JP thus far. Individual tracks, at times, offer ‘mini rock opera’ dynamics in both musical and vocal styling. KARHU’s clean vocalist captures raw energy and displays his development in the art of growling on these driving, punchy offerings.
Having to be persuaded by Karhu management to release the EP, this prolific songwriter has already started on his next project, an album now planned for release in 2015. As the name implies The Joseph Parry Projects (JPPs) will see some collaboration with other artists from the metal industry.
Joe caught up with Ola Englund at GAK in Brighton this month and spent best part of the day with TesseracT’s Acle Kahney, a first meeting in person for both. Needless to say he had a great day, confirmed by his late night boozy post on Ola’s FB page. Next month a scheduled trip to the Netherlands will bring the opportunity to meet up with Erik Kalsbeek. If all goes to plan, JPP will be sporting some associations with all three gentlemen on future works.
JP said “I am lucky enough to be on friendly terms with a lot of the performers I look up to, it will be great to put out the music I love, playing with the people I admire”.
Improvements to his home studio including the addition of an Ax FX unit are almost complete and will allow the production of even better quality output for future works, giving the facility to mix and produce for other artists when required. The digital EP is released on Karhu’s independent ‘TheKarhuGroove’ label and is available to purchase at http://tjpp.bandcamp.com/ with all the proceeds going into KARHU funds.
