HRH AOR 2016: Announce Headliners THE QUIREBOYS; Tour Details Revealed

Hard Rock Hell, Europe’s undisputed leader in residential festivals are pleased to announce they are taking their HRH AOR brand on the road around the UK for its inaugural trip.

Hard gigging, hard living, hard rocking home-grown heroes THE QUIREBOYS, have reinforced their reputation as kings of the road after announcing this slew of new dates with HRH AOR for 2016.

There will be 8 premier shows, which The Quireboys will headline, with main support from 80s hair metal heroes Faster Pussycat and super Swedes Bonafide. Other support acts include The Texas Flood, Thirteen Stars and SKAM.

“It will be more than 18 months since we played so many full electrics shows across the UK and it’s time we treated the fans to a big old party,” said singer Spike. “Doing it with 3 other bands under the HRH AOR banner in bigger venues, just makes perfect sense. We’ll be rolling out an all-new set featuring our favourite songs from the last four records, all the classics and some tunes that have never been played live. Let’s see how that works out!”

2016 has been the band’s most successful year to date with a main stage slot at Sweden Rock, sold-out dates in the USA and scores of UK and European headline shows complementing superb new album “St Cecilia And The Gypsy Soul”.

HRH CEO & Founder, Jonni Davis added, “We’ve been planning quite a few of these high value packages under the HRH banner to tour various countries for some time, this will be the first of many, which have been requested by the HRH family and are now out there for everyone to enjoy, getting Spike and the lads to headline the first one, just made it even more special”.

Locked away for a week in the Swedish outpost of Klippan, THE QUIREBOYS couldn’t have imagined what would emerge from the most intensive recording process of their careers.

“It was the bleakest place I’ve ever seen,” said guitarist Paul Guerin, following his stay in the town whose name translates as Cliff’s Edge. “I felt like I was in the Big Brother house,” added Spike. “I never stepped out of the studio – not once. We could have gone stir crazy but we came out of there with a record we never knew was possible.”

Inspired by the success of 2009’s critically acclaimed acoustic album Halfpenny Dancer, the band entered Lemon Studios fully intending to repeat that winning formula. However, an Aladdin’s Cave of intriguing instruments and eerie samples inspired the Quireboys to push the boundaries and shift the focus. “The plan was always to record some new acoustic songs and rework some originals,” added Spike. “But the plan changed. There was something about that place – the vibe got better and better and we just went with the flow.”

Spike, Paul Guerin, Guy Griffin (guitar) and Keith Weir (keyboards) flew home with 10 new songs and a brand new sound. Fans can hear the fruits of the Quireboys’ labours this spring when ‘St Cecilia And The Gypsy Soul’ is released as part of a luxurious 4CD set – featuring buried treasure and bonus cuts.

The new album will be packaged alongside Halfpenny Dancer – finally available again – and two discs covering the previously unreleased 2010 Halfpenny Dancer live show featuring fiddles, pedal steel, mandolin, banjo and more! “This side of the band needs to heard,” added Spike. “And we’ll be taking the new music out on the road with our most intimate tour yet.”

The new album’s title might hark back to the Quireboys’ rootsy legacy but the quality of its music reaffirms a desire to break new ground and grow their sound. The 30th anniversary celebrations might be over – but the party’s still in full swing!

St Cecilia And The Gypsy Soul is released worldwide via Off Yer Rocka on March 30 2015 but will be preceded by the Gracie B EP which features 4 bonus tracks & a lyrics video on the 16th March.

After an incredible 30th Anniversary World Tour, and by popular demand after last years highly acclaimed unplugged tour, THE QUIREBOYS are pleased to announce a very intimate string of evenings early 2015.

This is a great chance for all Quireboys fans nationwide to experience an audience with Spike,Paul,Keith & Guy in a very unique and laid back surrounding. The night will involve all the classics, rarities, surprises as well as a selection of new material ,played in unplugged arrangements as well as the all to famous QB banter n stories to create a very unique evening .

It may be only Rock n Roll, but even good old R’n’R has it’s special moments and this is certainly one not to miss.

THE QUIREBOYS have sold out their 30th anniversary show in less than 24 hours.

Following their recent 30th anniversary announcement, which sees The Quireboys returning to The Half Moon, Putney where they played their first ever gig; the boys have agreed to add another show the night before on April 22nd due to the phenomenal demand.

This new date will go on sale tonight at 19.00 GMT and tickets can be purchased at this location.

THE QUIREBOYS Tap Producer CHRIS TSANGARIDES For New Album

U.K. rockers THE QUIREBOYS are working on a brand new studio album for an early June release via Off Yer Rocka Recordings. The as-yet-untitled CD is being produced and mixed by the legendary Chris Tsangarides (JUDAS PRIEST, GARY MOORE, THIN LIZZY), who promises a modern sound with old-school values.

In January 2013, THE QUIREBOYS appointed marketing and festival guru Jonni Davis as their new manager and their new record deal.

With multiple festival appearances, the Monsters Of Rock cruise, a European headline tour and three planned releases, things are ramping up in a manner that will put THE QUIREBOYS back where they belong… on the global playing field.

THE QUIREBOYS‘ current lineup includes original frontman Spike Gray and guitarist Guy Griffin alongside Paul Guerin (guitar), Dave Boyce (bass), Keith Weir (keyboards) and Matt Goom (drums).
