RHYME released today the official video for the song ‘Blind Dog’ (the audio track is available for free download on http://www.facebook.com/rhymeband), taken from the band’s critically acclaimed new album ‘The Seed And The Sewage’ (on Bakerteam Records). Watch the video here:
In recent years RHYME have toured Europe with celebrated acts such as Papa Roach and Misfits, they have appeared two times at Rocklahoma Festival in the US and played countless shows including support slots for The Darkness, Hellyeah, Vista Chino and Gotthard among others. The band, which is now managed by Horang Music, will soon announce new live dates.
‘The Seed And The Sewage’ draws its influences from Nineties Metal, Hard Rock and Southern Rock, mixing them with deep lyrics inspired by the world’s social and economic events. Irony and rage, fury, sarcasm and desperation are all elements that can be traced in Rhyme’s musical path, which is now more relevant than ever. A number of guest musicians, including members of bands such as Destrage, Elvenking and Secret Sphere have also participated in the recording sessions.

Today, Metal Shock Finland‘s Tarja Virmakari had a chance to have a short interview with RHYME‘s Frontman Gabriele Gozzi, talking mainly about the new video “Blind Dog”. Read below what Gabriele told us:
1. Hi Gabriele, to start, please introduce us your band RHYME.
Hi guys, well RHYME was formed by Rik (bass) and Teo (Guitars) in early 2009, I joined as the frontman in 2010 and basically, the core of this band it’s been the three of us since then, because we had many changes behind the drums. Other than that…what can i say…..we are a rock n roll band.
2. You’ve just released a new video “Blind Dog”, taken from RHYME’s latest album ‘The Seed And The Sewage’, released on Bakerteam Records in 2012. why you decided to make this video, after so long time after the album release?
Actually the album came out just 15 months ago, but since we had the opportunity to make a lot out of this time period, it feels like much more. We are all about evolving our sound, and so it happened during our last tours, but we decided it would have been a good idea to give “The Seed and The sewage” one last spin, pickin’ what we consider to be the “strongest” song of the record, BLIND DOG.
3. Please describe us the storyline of the video? And from where you took the idea for it?
The idea came from Rik. It’s related to personal matters I think. He liked the idea of having a lone wolf in the video. He’s terrified by snakes. It’s a personal way to go beyond the limits and fight the demons we have, make sacrifices for a greater goal in life. The video has a similar subject, but it adds this dualism man\ lone wolf woman\snake which tells us about different natures that somehow never cross their paths.
4. Have you already had a chance to get some feedback about the video?
The video is about to be released, just a few hours after this interview for instance. We got some by the record label, bookin agencies, close partners and the response was pretty much the same, this video is our best yet. This is a further step towards new and better goals in our career.
5. Last year you spent pratically on the road, supporting the album, in Italy, Russia, Baltic countries and in the States. The band that you played with were e.g. Vista Chino, Hellyeah, Grave Digger, Seether, Alice in Chains, Guns’N’Roses… please tell me shortly about the highlights of sharing the stage with these bands…
We’re a live band. We know it’s tough out there but we ain’t afraid of any situation or stages or whatever. Opening for such great bands, seeing what they see, feeling that same spark of emotion that only being in front of a great audience can give you, is priceless and highly addictive. Don’t get me wrong, we also play very small situations, but in end it doesn’t even matter eheh.
We learn, we embrace our life on the road. Rocklahoma 2013 was amazing. Our tour with The Darkness was one of our best. Gotthard “home show” too. To be a PRO, you have to think like one, you have to act like one. Our life on the road, the great bands we shared the stage with so far, are our teachers.
6. And now, looking to this year, what are your plans?
We have a brand new single coming out in june, new stuff, then……..touring and writing new material as much as we can.
Thanks Gabriele for this mini-chat, all the best! and hope to see you on the road! \m/
