Spanish dark/horror metallers FOSCOR have teamed up with Metal Shock Finland to premiere for Finland the band’s Official New Video for the band’s 4th album title song “Those Horrors Wither”, released November 2014 by Alone Records. Watch the video below.

After the release of the new album “Those Horrors Wither” and the first video for the single “Graceful Pandora” one year ago by Alone Records, FOSCOR face 2016 as their 15th Anniversary, carrying on with their quest for the creative expression of Emotion. It’s time for the ultimate music video on this musical period. A visual poem conceived by RFH Photography & IRA Photography and edited again by the band’s founder member and guitarist Falke, for the title track “Those Horrors Wither”, filled with that same emotion which makes us aware of our own instincts. The one which lets us know we are alive. Those are the Horrors in Motion: The Hex of Life.

In order to commemorate their 15th Anniversary, FOSCOR has recently printed an exclusive T-Shirt created by Maldo Illustration & Branca Studio (Pentagram, Lucifer, Grave Pleasures, Kadavar, Ketzer…).

Video concept:

“Those Horrors Wither” would be meant to show the relevance which primal fears hold to get to know ourselves, to know our flaws, and ultimately how we deal with the difficulties life itself makes us face. These Horrors are silenced by society, culture and history, relegating the individual too often to its least significance.

It is time to introduce a new approach from the visual perspective to the three grinds the human being faces in what we call “the hex of life”. Three levels of interaction, three challenges to endure, three horrors seldom overcome within the short distance which separates birth from death.

The relationship with what surrounds us.
The relationship with our peers.
The relationship with ourselves.

The time-lapse technique allows us through visual metaphors to reach a state of active drowsiness, entailed to each of the three topics. A sensory trance which takes as long as one’s life, and it is summarized in what an instant affects every individual. These stages are precisely dealt with during the 7 songs on the album through Love, Addiction, Control, the passing of Time, the Fear of the Unknown.  And here they are found to form this visual poem which is connected to the album’s title song.

FOSCOR: New Album “Those Horrors Wither” Streaming In Its Entirety

Decibel magazine is streaming the whole of “Those Horrors Wither”, the fourth full-length album from Dark Metallers FOSCOR, and it can be heard at this location.

“Those Horrors Wither” marks a change of direction for FOSCOR, who have moved away from the standard  90’s Black and Extreme Metal and created a style that is distinctly their own by mixing Doom and Dark Rock together, and adding progressive touches that not only give the band and their music a whole new identity, but also one that appeals across a number of genres.  Whilst the album does have guest artists, FOSCOR have taken the unusual step of having their guests write and perform connecting passages between the tracks, rather than straightforward vocals or instrumental solos on the tracks themselves.

The album itself was is on Alone Records today, 25th November in two different formats, one being a  Digipack and the other a 12″ gatefold vinyl with a poster by Manuel Tinnemans of COMAWORX.  The vinyl comes both in standard black or as a white limited collector’s edition.  Both the Digipak and the vinyls include a different  additional track.

FOSCOR are set to play two dates to mark the release of “Those Horrors Wither”, the first being at the Charada Club in Madrid on the 5th December and the second at Bikini in Barcelona on the 7th.  In between the two shows, FOSCOR will be performing with, along with several other bands,  at the special event “Under the Sign of Bathory: A Tribute to Quorthon”, which will be held on the 6th December at the Sala Boveda in Barcelona.

With the release date of their fourth full-length album fast approaching, and “Graceful Pandora”, a 7″ single taken from the album already available, Dark Metallers FOSCOR have released a teaser video for “Those Horrors Wither” as a hint of what to expect from the full album.  The teaser can be seen below:

Tomorrow Listening Session For Local Fans in Barcelona

Furthermore FOSCOR are set to hold an exclusive  listening session for “Those Horrors Wither” at 18:00 on the 22nd November at Tu Tu Tu Pa Pa Records, a recently opened record store in their home town of Barcelona, where fans are invited to hear the album and chat to the band.

The release of “Those Horrors Wither” will be celebrated with two shows.  The first being at Charada Club in Madrid on the 5th December and the second at Bikini in Barcelona on the 7th.

Having recently signed with Alone Records, and with a new full-length album, “Those Horrors Wither”,  set to appear in November,  preceded by a 7″ single taken from the album, Dark Metallers FOSCOR have today released a video for the afore-mentioned single “Graceful Pandora”, ahead of its release. The video can be seen below:

Directed and edited by FOSCOR guitarist Falke, the video is written and produced by the band, with Adrià Escanilla behind the camera, assisted by RFH Photography, who also designed the costumes, and with Irati Aguado as Pandora and J.F. Serra as Zeus.  Commenting on the theme behind the video, the band had this to say:

“The song “Graceful Pandora” from the upcoming “Those Horrors Wither” album was chosen  because within the song itself can be found are a couple of very important elements that allow a better understanding of the album title and its contents.  As the title indicates, the song is based on the myth of Pandora and the horrors she unleashed when curiosity tempted her to open the box.  Those horrors represent the primal fears and subconscious horrors that we all have within us, and once they are exposed we can either accept them as the dark side of ourselves, or we can allow them to affect our sanity.  It’s pretty much a timeless theme and we thought that Zeus and Pandora were the perfect vehicles to symbolise the spread of those horrors over mankind and to teach us that we can either use them to enrich our lives, albeit in a disturbing way, or we can allow them to suck us into a hole of despair”.

The “Graceful Pandora” 7″ single, with artwork by Mia Calderone which depicts Pandora opening the Box and realising that she is able to reach beyond the suffering she has unleashed and discover the good behind the experience,  will hit the streets on the 3rd October and can be pre-ordered now from http://www.thestonecirclestore.com/

“Those Horrors Wither”, which will be the band’s fourth full-length album, will be released on the 25th November in both CD and vinyl versions, and  is somewhat of a change of direction for FOSCOR, whose usual style of ’90’s Black and Extreme Metal  has matured significantly as the band adds touches of Doom and Dark Rock, together with traces of Prog to their sound.

Dark Metallers FOSCOR have inked a deal with Alone Records for the release of what will be the band’s fourth full-length album “Those Horrors Wither”.  “Graceful Pandora”, a track from the album, will be released as a single in 7″ vinyl format on the 3rd of October and is available to pre-order now from http://www.thestonecirclestore.com, can be heard below.

Slated to appear on the 25th November in both CD and vinyl versions, “Those Horrors Wither” marks a change of direction for FOSCOR, taking the band’s usual style of ’90’s Black and Extreme Metal and adding touches of Doom and Dark Rock, together with traces of Prog.   FOSCOR has chosen a somewhat unusual direction with the guest appearances on the album.  Instead of the expected vocals or instrumental solos, the guest artists have written and performed connecting passages between the tracks.

Dark Metallers FOSCOR Enter Studio To Begin Work On Fourth Full-Length Album

Patricia Thomas Management has issued that the dark metallers FOSCOR are in the Nautilus Studios in Barcelona to begin recording their fourth full-length album. The new album, to be titled “Those Horrors Wither”, is the follow up to 2009’s “Groans to the Guilty” and marks an expansion in the band’s musical direction, away from the strict confines of Black Metal. Work has already started on the drum tracks, and FOSCOR will be posting regular updates and photos from the recording sessions on their Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/foscor.official

With a current lineup that comprises Falke (SOUL ASIDE, FAYRIERIE, ex-LUX DIVINA) and A.M. (ex-VIDRES A LA SANG) on guitars, Fiar (MELANGIA, DAWN OV HATE, CABESTRO, live session vocalist for GRAVEYARD) on Bass and Vocals, and Nechrist (ex-SHEMHAMPHORASH) on drums, FOSCOR was formed in Barcelona in 1997 and spent their first decade blending the best of ‘90’s Old School Black Metal with both traditional and modern extreme metal styles. With three full-length albums, three splits, and appearances on KATATONIA and ENSLAVED tributes under their belts, the band released a live DVD in 2012 to commemorate their 10th Anniversary. But more than just a commemoration, the DVD also represents the end of one era for the band, whilst “Those Horrors Wither”, for which a label is being sought, represents the beginning of the next.

Commenting on the new direction, FOSCOR founders Falke and Fiar had this to say: “We have been developing our direction and sound since the very beginning, and now I think we have reached the stage where our musical abilities have increased to the extent where we can express ourselves fully though our music in the way we always wanted and we have truly come into our own. I don’t really know how you would classify the new direction, but we have expanded our musical horizons, dipping into doom, and even moments of prog, whilst keeping the claustrophobic black atmosphere. I guess you could say that the new album will be much more multi-dimensional. Fans who have been with us from the start will have probably had some kind of inkling as to the direction we will be taking, and we hope they will be very satisfied with what they are going to hear. There’s a lot of work yet to be done and we will try to keep everyone updated every step of the way. Darkness will speak again…”
