HEADS FOR THE DEAD: Unveil Official Video ‘Maniac’

Death metal supergroup HEADS FOR THE DEAD, with members of Wombbath, Gorefest, Hail of Bullets and Revel In Flesh, have unleashed a gnarly official video for one of the songs off their horror-themed EP that pays homage in their own way to the classic horror movies. “Slash ‘n’ Roll” will be released on November 5th via Transcending Obscurity Records. No Clean Singing premiered the video AT THIS LINK and had this to say about it –

“A video that’s replete with over-the-top lyrical pathology and an abundance of blood-drenched film clips… this is the kind of thoroughly monstrous music that will put a fiendish smile on your face”

After releasing two standout full length albums which were both refreshing and thrilling for this style of death metal, Heads For The Dead whose lineup includes members of venerated and experienced bands such as Wombbath, Gorefest, Revel In Flesh, Hail of Bullets have come up with an EP paying homage to the classic horror movies which have inspired their music in a big way. Having already established their own horror-tinged sound, it’s fascinating to see the band employ a more crusty approach in giving these unforgettable horror movie tunes a brand new vision and output. There are reinterpretations of theme songs from movies such as Maniac, Halloween and The Thing, done entirely in the band’s style with lyrics and death metal extremity and then there are two fitting cover songs from punk bands like Misfits and Ramones. All in all, this is an exciting and highly enjoyable release not just for the Heads For The Dead fans, who have a new full length in the works, but also just about any fan of horror movies and heavy metal music.

MASTER are one of the earliest proponents of death metal and are veritable legends in the line, having been around for over three decades and releasing over a dozen records. It’s phenomenal to get a chance to work with a band of their repute and we can only be grateful to be given a chance to work with them for a brand new full length this year if not more. Master’s latest album ‘Vindictive Miscreant’ will not only please their old fans but will also turn many new listeners into one. It’s their best album in years.

Transcending Obscurity Records label owner Kunal Choksi says, “It’s truly a dream come true to work with a legendary band in Master. Paul Speckmann proved to be a man of rare integrity and signed the contract within two hours of bringing up the topic. Needless to say, I will be doing my utmost best not to let him down and do greater things for his band, now and in the future. This is a very fortuitous signing for the label and I couldn’t be happier. Hard work does pay off, it seems, when there was little respite. FERAL Sign To Transcending Obscurity Records

Swedish death metal force FERAL have signed a multiple album and format deal with Indian label Transcending Obscurity Records. Their style of music is uncompromising and pure, and in their own way they take ahead the classic death metal sound, finding gnarlier and more twisted expression within the HM-2-driven sound. With four releases already under their belt since 2007, they’re gearing up to unleash their upcoming full length on the new label.

Label owner owner Kunal Choksi comments, “Transcending Obscurity Records is proud to have another stellar Swedish death metal act in its ranks. Feral are going from strength to strength and their latest EP was gnarly, aggressive and yet redolent of the classic Swedish sound. We believe the best from them is yet to come. We’re happy to work with David Nilsson and the band and have signed a two-album contract, starting with a full length that will be unleashed first. They’re taking the Swedish death metal sound ahead and that’s what’s most appealing about this hardworking band.”

ALBATROSS: New Video For ‘Children Of The Cloud’ Available Online

Mumbai horror metallers ALBATROSS have released a new video for the track ‘Children Of The Cloud.’ It is part of the ‘Hell @ D-Bell Series’, a concert the band filmed for a live DVD release, but this one is available for free online. Check it out below:

The show was recorded at the Mood Indigo Festival in Mumbai, conducted by IIT Mumbai students, and held at D-Bell Cafe. ALBATROSS headlined the Mumbai leg.

It’s the first story written by ALBATROSS drummer Jay Thacker, part of upcoming album “Fear From The Skies,” which is due for release via Transcending Obscurity records soon. Stay tuned for more news!
