Hammerheart Records have announced the 35th anniversary of Trouble‘s self-titled debut album from 1990. The anniversary edition comes with a special bonus CD Live In Dallas Texas. The album will be out on 12th December 2025 via Hammerheart Records.
Trouble’s 1990 self-titled release is arguably their most mature, boasting a fleshed out sound with unparalleled songwriting, a great production, and the time-crafted vocals of Eric Wagner which had improved majorly in the years since their previous efforts. All of this culminates in the most “complete” album Trouble ever created. From the mid-paced chug of a killer opener in ‘At the End of My Daze’ to the last notes of ‘All Is Forgiven’, there is no filler resembling a weak link. The riffs here are some of the best ever written, by Trouble or anyone else; every song has a manically awesome main riff that demands a display of headbanging. Riffs are undoubtedly the point of focus here; they make the songs, and they’re a timeless variety of great. Also, the interplay between guitarists Bruce Franklin and Rick Wartell is some of the best lead work you will ever hear.

Run to the Light, originally released by Metal Blade Records on July 15, 1987, is the third studio album by doom metal legends TROUBLE. Metal Blade Records will proudly reissue the quintessential classic this Friday on CD, vinyl and digitally. The CD and digital release will feature three previously unreleased demos – “The Misery Shows,” “Thinking of the Past and “Run to the Light,” along with a cover of the Beatles classic “Come Together,” previously available on the “Best of Metal Blade Vol.2” (1987). All versions are available at: metalblade.com/trouble
Guitarist Bruce Franklin had this to say about the re-release; “Run to the Light was long overdue for a re-release. So, since it took 35 years, we thought remastering and some bonus tracks were in order. The first bonus track is a cover version of The Beatles ‘Come Together,” which was recorded during the Run to the Light album sessions. It previously was only available on a Best of Metal Blade compilation. The other bonus tracks are from a 1986 demo of 3 songs that would end up being prominent titles on the actual Run to the Light album, recorded in 1987. Throw in a bunch of not-seen-before tour pictures from the 1987 tour with King Diamond and you have a new repackaging of Run to the Light with plenty of extras for Trouble fans.“

Finnish chart-toppers, VON HERTZEN BROTHERS have released a lyric video for ‘Trouble’ – a track from their forthcoming studio album, ‘NEW DAY RISING’, out March 23rd on Spinefarm Records.
Mixed by Juno Award winner Randy Staub (Metallica, Alice In Chains), ‘Trouble’ blends the key elements of VHB’s music: atmosphere, intelligence, epic feel, progressive leanings and serious riffs. It’s one of the heaviest tracks recorded by the band, and the accompanying lyric video uses the imagery of the album art to create a truly arresting piece of work…
Check it out here:
“On the cover of the forthcoming album, there are birds of prey trying to break the chains they carry in their claws,” says vocalist / guitarist Mikko Von Hertzen. “This song is about the chains. The heaviness we carry. The constant struggle we face. It’s a song about the enemy we all have inside of us. The one who sometimes hides in the background but never surrenders. The one who is always keen on finding an opportunity to bring us down.”
ON TOUR
Apr 23 London, The Dome
Apr 24 Nottingham, The Rescue Rooms
Apr 25 Wolverhampton, Slade Rooms
Pre-orders for ‘New Day Rising’ (the album) are now live, with ‘New Day Rising’ (the lead single / video) available for instant download upon album pre-order via iTunes http://po.st/01g9JV
“Fifteen years in the making, and New Day Rising, the latest Von Hertzen Brothers album might just be about to make them – in the eyes of an entirely new audience – something of an overnight success. This is the work of a band at full creative tilt and in the ascendant.”
