JARED JAMES NICHOLS Announces New Album and Tour With UFO And SAXON

JARED JAMES NICHOLS has quickly built up a great reputation as an amazing blues rock player and a stage beast, having played with the likes of ZZ TOP, LYNYRD SKYNYRD, ZAAK WYLDE, GLENN HUGHES, WALTER TROUT among others within such a short period of time, and has kept on delivering crushing propulsive blues tones with soulfully insane solos.

JARED JAMES NICHOLS has now entered the studio to start recording the band’s second album to be issued later this year on Listenable records, and will immediately jump on a tour bus to open for the legendary SAXON and UFO on their North American tour.

Jared comments: “When I received the call to tour with UFO & SAXON, founding groups of hard rock and heavy metal, I was blown away. They have had so much influence on me as a kid growing up listening to rock music, and as a guitar player. It’s absolutely unreal to me. No doubt this tour will leave a massive impact!!”

The guitar/vocalist is absolutely thrilled when arousing great touring memories: “The first images that come to mind are excitement, childhood dreams coming true, and determination. It all almost doesn’t seem real. I jammed with Lynyrd Skynyrd and became great friends with ZAKK & Doug Aldrich, all of whom are heroes! It makes me very excited to see what the next album touring holds in store. I know whatever it is, it will be amazing!”

Continuing with describing how it impacted on him and the band : “I feel like I evolved into the player I have always wanted to be. Just by touring and being around these GIANTS of music, it has rubbed off on me. I had more confidence in my playing, music, and mission now more than ever !

If there is anything I’ve changed it is having doubts or nervousness. I’ve learned the best thing is to just go up on stage and let it all out. It’s kinda like letting go of a filter, and just getting even more raw and intense. It’s evident in the new songs, the growth in the past year has felt insane!”

Some of the new album tracks include titles like ‘Last Chance’, ‘Don’t Be Scared, ‘The Gun’.

On March 24th, BLOOD DIVISIONS – a collaborative project of heavy metal musicians with proceeds going to Rock and Rescue – will release their new EP, Cardinal One, via Metal Blade Records. Featuring cover songs of classic tracks as well as original material, Cardinal One can be pre-ordered at: metalblade.com/blooddivisions – where the album track and cover version of UFO‘s “Hot ‘n’ Ready” can be streamed.

Founded by core members Chris Jericho (Fozzy, WWE), David Austin (Nasty Savage), and Ed Aborn (Intersonic Cyber Symphony), Blood Divisions features a roster of supporting musicians who are current or former members of bands such as Obituary, Death, Nasty Savage, Six Feet Under, Iced Earth, Sebastian Bach, Deicide, Massacre, Trans-Siberian Orchestra, and more. The result is a mixture of classics injected with new energy and original music in the mold of Florida’s heavy metal roots.

“Blood Divisions is the perfect heavy metal snack mix,” says singer and Executive Producer Chris Jericho (Fozzy, WWE). “It’s a complete blend of balls out thrash, virtuoso technique and 70′s hard rock melodies. It’s an honor to be a part of this project, as I’d be a fan even if I wasn’t in the band! Plus I love machine elves.”

“The project began purely as a creative outlet to have some fun and pay homage to some of the bands that influenced or inspired us,” adds Ed Aborn (Intersonic Cyber Symphony). “Once we began, though, friends from the Florida metal community started to reach out and ask if they could join in. Eventually we decided to make it semi-official and do it all for charity.”

David Austin (Nasty Savage) comments: “Absolute pleasure working with all my friends on here. For them to take their time out of their busy schedule and to do something for free for charity means everything to me. Hopefully I get to do it all over again!!!!”

UFO And SAXON To Tour Across the US in March/April 2017

Rock legends UFO have announced a US tour with very special guests SAXON, beginning March 9 in Houston, TX and continuing into early April.
 UFO, with their long standing line up of Phil Mogg (Vocals), Paul Raymond (Keyboards / Guitar), Andy Parker (Drums), Vinnie Moore (Guitar) and Rob De Luca (Bass), are back in the US after a phenomenally successful sold out tour in early 2016.  They are currently working on their 22nd studio album after the last studio release A Conspiracy of Stars in 2015.
SAXON are touring on their latest release Battering Ram together with the new double live album set Let Me Feel Your Power (out October 28 in North America), both on the UDR Music label. After great success with both US headline shows and dates with Judas Priestover last few years, the band are back as part of this great package. SAXON are Biff Byford (Vocals), Paul Quinn (Guitar), Nigel Glockler (Drums), Doug Scarrett (Guitar) and Tim “Nibbs” Carter (Bass).

UFO Guitar Legend Vinnie Moore To Release New CD “Aerial Visions”

The long awaited new album from legendary guitarist Vinnie Moore, will be released on October 23 on Mind’s Eye Music. Titled “Aerial Visions”, Vinnie’s 8th solo album features drummer Richie Monica (Tantric, Poppa Chubby), and bassists Dave LaRue (Steve Morse Band, Flying Colors, The Dregs), Rob DeLuca (UFO, Sebastian Bach), Dorian Heartsong (Jason Bonham’s Led Zeppelin Experience) and Elliott Dean Rubinson (Uli Jon Roth, MSG).

“Everything that Moore throws himself into features his astounding 6-string abilities. Far from being a ‘mere shredder’, Moore combines insane technique with touch, taste, and stylistic influences that include Van Halen, Jeff Beck, Duane Allman, Larry Carlton, and many other diverse talents. He can play sweep-picked arpeggios with a bluesy feel or play blues licks at neo-classical speeds, never sacrificing tone, time,or intonation. Vinnie has released seven critically acclaimed solo albums; five albums and one DVD as a member of rock royalty legends UFO; and one album with band Red Zone Rider. His solo and UFO releases as well as LIVE performances have amassed rave reviews all around the globe from both fans and music press, inspiring guitarists worldwide and launching him into aerial guitar superhero distinction!

Says Vinnie, “I have been touring all over the world pretty nonstop for the past 12 years. I started this record about two years ago and have been working on it while at home. I’m totally jacked up about getting it out there for others to hear as well as playing these songs LIVE. Two of the songs on ‘Aerial’ were written as instrumentals but were included on a UFO record with vocals. I have also done a cover of ZZ Top’s ‘La Grange’ which I have always thought is one of the coolest songs ever. I have done ZZ covers onstage a lot.”

Vinnie has toured several times all over Europe, UK, Scandanvia, Brazil, and the USA, as well as performing in India, Korea, Mexico, Russia, and Canada. The UFO “A Conspiracy of Stars” tour will continue in Europe on October 21, and will include nine shows in December as opening act for Judas Priest on their Redeemer of Souls tour.

Says Vinnie, “With my solo records I can cover a lot more territory stylistically. I enjoy this freedom to be able to follow my muse wherever it leads. All of my influences are in there, from Rock to Blues to Be-Bop to Funk. I am into so many different styles of music that I can’t help myself, I’m basically a slave to it all and so there are inspirations from everywhere. Having said that, being a songwriter is the most important thing to me. I try to use my inspiration to create a mood and take the listener on a little journey to wherever.”

UFO Confirmed For “Hard Rock Hell 9” And More Acts Announced

By popular Hard Rock Hell 9 (aka HRH) fan demand, UFO have confirmed to join SAXON at HRH 9 (on November 12-15th in North Wales) for a main stage rock off. The last time the two bands met was at HRH 4, but with another 5 years’ worth of material plus all the legendary classics, this will be a double header not to be missed.

Former MEGADETH Drummer Is Looking For Aliens

Nick MenzaSome of us believe that we are not alone in this world and Aliens must be there somewhere in that unlimited sky above. Former MEGADETH drummer Nick Menza seems to believe the same. Nick is looking for them by his camera in the sunlight of the days or darkness of the nights, he is very determined.

According to Loudwire.com; Nick Menza has recently captured video of a strange object (or objects) in the skies over Studio City, California. The video looks interesting and a few lights can be seen moving?! The clip is available to watch on the YouTube player below.

Menza writes, “We lost site of it as it went up through the clouds. It was distant, dimly light and hardly moving …. If it wasn’t for the fact that we went out to look at the big moon … We probably would not have noticed it. The Samsung Galaxy4 phone camera was on full zoom… Hence the shakiness even after stabilization. In total 4 witnesses including me. Well I know what I think it was … I would like to hear from others who may have seen the same thing…. or anyone who thinks they know what this was and has a reasonable explanation of if its origins if explained as terrestrial. Leave your comments.”

According to Menza, after watching the footage, CNN has asked the drummer to make an appearance to discuss the bizarre video.

Nick Menza is working on a new book, entitled “Menzalife”, which we are looking forward to read it soon. During a recent interview on internet radio show ‘Rock ‘N’ SeXXXy Uncensored,’ Menza spoke about extraterrestrial beliefs in this book. “Before, back in the Stone Ages,” Menza began, “like when we were just regular humans, we didn’t have brains in us and then the aliens came down and they intervened and they put brains in our heads and now we’re all smart and we’re starting to figure things out, ascending to the next level and a higher level of conscious awareness and that sort of stuff.”
