MORGOTH‘s highly awaited new studio album “Ungod”, which will be released in Europe on March 30th, 2015 via Century Media Records, can be pre-ordered as of today. Check the Century Media EU webstore for the physical format of your choice: CM Distro

You can chose between the standard CD version, the limited Digipak version with extended booklet and two bonus tracks or the LP version (180 g vinyl, printed inner sleeve).

The LP version will be released in the following variations, so better hurry up with the limited ones:
Black vinyl – unlimited
Dark green vinyl – limited to 200 copies (exclusively available at CM Distro Europe)
Silver vinyl – limited to 200 copies (exclusively available at CM Distro US)

Today, MORGOTH has released a lyric video for the track “Snakestate” off the upcoming album, Ungod. “Snakestate” perfectly displays the trademark sound and musical variety of Ungod, an album that turned out surprisingly diverse and fresh, capturing the essence of MORGOTH by blending the ferociousness of the band’s legendary EPs,Resurrection Absurd and The Eternal Fall, with the abysmal atmosphere of MORGOTH’s great classic albums, Cursed and Odium. Ungod will be released on March 30th in Europe and April 7th in North America via Century Media Records. MORGOTH: Cover Artwork For “Ungod” Album Revealed

MORGOTH have revealed the cover artwork for their upcoming studio album “Ungod”, which is set to be released on March 30th, 2015 in Europe and April 7th, 2015 in North America through Century Media Records. The atmosphere of “Ungod” was perfectly captured by Greek cover designer Seth Siro Anton (Paradise Lost, Soilwork, Moonspell, etc.), who transformed it into an eerie piece of delusion and despair.

MORGOTH comments on the collaboration: “We are very happy to have worked with Seth for the cover artwork of the album. We knew it wouldn’t be very easy to put the title “Ungod” into a design that is vivid, brutal and aesthetic at the same time. We had received a couple of good different suggestions for the artwork, but Seth’s simply was the one who pictured exactly what was already in our minds. It can roughly be described as God drowning in the void, killing its own creation and becoming the “Ungod” – The dawn of the Antichrist.”

MORGOTH: Announce Details On New Studio Album, New Song Launched

After 19 years the deadly teutonic death metal force of MORGOTH return with a brand new studio album. “Ungod” will be released on March 30th, 2015 in Europe and April 7th, 2015 in North America by Century Media Records. The album will contain 11 tracks of dark and dismal death metal, combining the untamed ferocity of MORGOTH’s infamous EPs with the atmospheric density of the band’s two legendary albums, “Cursed” and “Odium”.

MORGOTH comments on the new album and the new track as follows:

“After 18 years we can finally present a first glimpse at our new full length album “Ungod”! We started with the songwriting in January 2013 and finished the recording process by the end of December 2014. It was an awesome experience to go through the sometimes very complex and challenging process of writing and recording an album again.

Our goal was to present some real Morgoth-style Death Metal, which closes the gap between “Cursed” and “Odium”. We hope that we have achieved this goal and our supporters and friends will like the final outcome.

The idea behind the song “Black Enemy” is that this evil force rests within all of us and all we can do is trying to keep that beast under control. The “Black Enemy” represents the dark and destroying part inside of us and the lyrics deal with someone who is not able to control it anymore, committing a murder in the end”.

“Ungod” was recorded, mixed and mastered in November and December 2014 by Jörn Michutta and Matthias Klinkmann at Sound Division Tonstudio in the band’s initial home-area of Sauerland / Germany, after having already successfully tested the studio for the “God Is Evil” EP.

MORGOTH recently parted ways with longtime vocalist Marc Grewe, who was replaced by Karsten “Jagger” Jäger (also in Disbelief). Jagger has already proven being the perfect fit for MORGOTH on his live debut in December and his performance on “Ungod” will further solidify the choice.

Be prepared for the return of MORGOTH and the coming of the “Ungod”.

MORGOTH: Announce New Vocalist, “Ungod” Studio Album Update And Release Shows

Earlier this week German Death Metal pioneers MORGOTH revealed having parted ways with longtime vocalist Marc Grewe and commented “The chance for a further cooperation between us simply wasn’t possible anymore”. In the meantime, the band already announced that Karsten “Jagger” Jäger from Germany’s long-running Metal act Disbelief will be handling the vocals on the upcoming album as well as on all the next scheduled live-shows for MORGOTH.

After wrapping up all recordings for “Ungod”, the album is now in its mixing process and a (rough mix) teaser of new MORGOTH music featuring Jagger on vocals has already been launched online here:

“Ungod” will be coming out on March 30th, 2015 in Europe (March 27th, 2015 in Germany) via Century Media Records and will be celebrated with a string of very special release club shows in Germany with support by Deserted Fear as well as local opening acts to be announced soon.
