Finnish metal band Stam1na will issue a collection of their old demo recordings which were originally “self-released” on cassette tape or CD-R format before the band signed a deal with Sakara Records. Entitled “Vanhaa Paskaa” (which literally translates to “old shit”), the compilation is being made available in response to an overwhelming demand from fans who couldn’t track down the band’s early material.
Stam1na made several demos between 1997 and 2004. The group’s first recordings were sung in English, and from those there is only one track included on the “Vanhaa Paskaa” album — “Meet Your Fate”, which was also the first song ever composed by the band.
Stam1na’s first Finnish-language demo was released in 2001 and the “Vanhaa Paskaa” album contains all the demo material the band recorded in Finnish. Also included on the CD is one song which was recorded during studio sessions for the “Raja” album, but that did not end up on the final CD, a track called “Yhdeksän Tien Päät”.
