Sweden’s VELVET INSANE have announced a new project “Carr Jam – 21”, celebrating the legacy of the late ERIC CARR.
VELVET INSANE stated: “We’re incredibly proud to announce “Carr Jam – 21”. A new project to celebrate the legacy of the late Eric Carr (KISS 1980-1991). Eric tragically passed away 30 years ago and we wanted to do something special. Together with some of the most well known and KISS inspired musicians, we’re going to record and release 2 songs written by Eric Carr + 1 KISS related bonus song. All proceeds from the sales will be donated to St. Jude’s Children Hospital.
The people behind the project are: Gustav Kronfelt (video producer), Jolle Atlagic (Electric Boys, The Quill), Jesper Lindgren (Velvet Insane), Ryan Roxie (Alice Cooper) and Martin Ekelund (Bonafide).
We will release more members but also more info about how this is going to be launched later this year! Stay tuned, more news coming soon…”
Swedish rockers VELVET INSANE goes wam bam glam and wrings the clock back to 1973 in the new music video for “Backstreet Liberace” and with guest appearances from Dregen and Nicke Andersson of The Hellacopters on the track, the Swedish glam rockers are in good company.
The band comments:
“We feel very proud about this song and that it breathes and swaggers like it was made in London 1973, but with the modern sound of today.
Smooth pop harmonies pumped up by heavy drums and barbed wire guitars, and with a chorus that hits you right where it hurts. On top of it all we got Dregen and Nicke Andersson from The Hellacopters to jump in the back seat, giving us a helping hand in our purpose to keep rock ‘n’ roll alive. It can’t get any better than that!”

The track is written by the legendary Sulo Karlsson of the Diamond Dogs who also has produced and wrote the tracks together with the band on the upcoming album “Rock ‘n’ Roll Glitter Suit”.
The eleven-track long album manifests Velvet Insane as a rock act to count on for years to come. “Rock ’n’ Roll Glitter Suit” is released via Wild Kingdom on July 16.
Swedish glam rockers VELVET INSANE have inked a record deal with Wild Kingdom/Sound Pollution and are set to release their new album “Rock ‘n’ Roll Glitter Suit” this coming summer.
”It feels inspiring and exciting to have signed a deal with Wild Kingdom. After working our asses off for years jumping around on different record companies it feels like we finally found our home. Wild Kingdom got the distinct rock ’n’ roll vein that we all love. Together we have made this glammy high energy rock ’n’ roll album that we feel very proud of. A wam bam beat that will knock you of your feet.”
SAVE THE NOIZE is a charity project started by the glam rock band VELVET INSANE and Rasmus Harnesk Wiklund (Hårdrock – För Fan! – Podcast, Veritas). The project is in benefit of the “Musikerförbundets” crisis foundation and involves some of the biggest nordic artists within the genre of rock & hardrock, coming together to record a song where all the income goes to the previously named foundation. The idea was born during the COVID-19 pandemic, which has stricken hard against everybody, not to say the least against musicians in Sweden and around the world.
SAVE THE NOIZE is a modern and socially relevant hardrock song. A big refrain, catchy melody and power, is the focus to give the feeling of musicians and culture creators in Sweden as well as around the world, coming together for a common cause. To support and help each other.
Listen and make a difference! The song is out NOW!

VELVET INSANE, since its inception in October 2013, the young boys had become one of Sweden’s hottest unsigned band where the debut EP “Youth On Fire” got a break in particularly in countries such as Thailand, Japan and Australia, where the latter country was visited for a tour over February 2015 and Japan in October. Since their return from Australia, the band was in a creative process when it comes to songwriting and the development of their artistic concepts, something you notice on the band’s newest EP “Break out of Eden”, released on June 6th 2015.
Just a couple of days prior to the band’s UK tour, Tarja Virmakari had a chance to interview VELVET INSANE vocalist Jonas Eriksson, talking about their “Break out of Eden”, touring, future plans …and Ice Hockey. To discover all Jonas revealed to Tarja, join the chat below.
