A Journey Through Grunge and Beyond

This 12-track masterpiece is a culmination of Valentyn Matvieiev’s (VM) artistic quest. Since February 2022, VM poured his heart and soul into the project, channeling raw emotions and unyielding determination. Even amidst the immense challenges faced by his home country, Ukraine, VM persevered, crafting a soundscape that transcends borders and resonates with the human spirit.

VM collaborated with the talented Igor Antonov, who brought his production prowess to life on the album. Additionally, the captivating vocals of Olena Kalytovska and the magic violin of Natalya Yackevich add another layer of depth to the musical tapestry.

While staying true to his signature “grunge/avant-garde” style, VM pushes boundaries on “There Is Something More – We Are Blind.” Building upon the minimalist foundation laid in his debut EP “2Push2Relax,” the album explodes with rich sonic textures. Violins and ethnic percussion weave seamlessly into the grungy core, creating a sound that is both familiar and refreshingly innovative.

The album’s enigmatic title, “There Is Something More – We Are Blind,” embodies the profound human experience of searching for meaning beyond the tangible. It’s a testament to the power of music to capture the ineffable – the emotions and experiences that defy easy explanation.

VM, hailing from Zhytomyr, Ukraine, has always been drawn to the grunge genre. His passion for both listening to and performing grunge music led him to dedicate himself to its creation. VM’s commitment to uniqueness and experimentation in his music sets him apart, making his compositions truly distinctive.

In 2021, VM made his debut with the EP “2Push2Relax,” which garnered critical acclaim and introduced audiences to his signature sound. Now, in collaboration with Epictronic, VM is excited to release “Incomplete,” a track that exemplifies his raw talent and creative vision. The single showcases his skills as a multi-talented artist. It’s been produced (recorded, mixed, and mastered) at the “Hostel Studio” in his home town Zhytomyr, Ukraine
