There will be only one chance to experience VOLBEAT live in Europe next year. Denmark’s global phenomenon will perform a one-time, unique concert on Saturday August 1st in The Thousand Year Forest aka Tusindårsskoven. Located in Odense, Denmark, the rural grounds are surrounded by garden associations, a lot of trees, a golf course and the 150 year-old railroad that runs across Funen connecting the island with the surrounding Zealand and Jutland.

VOLBEAT will be celebrating the tenth anniversary of the release of their debut album The Strength/The Sound/The Songs in 2015, and on this special night the quartet has planned an evening for the ages with unique stage production and a set encompassing songs spanning their entire career. Repetoie from the debut album through their latest Outlaw Gentlemen & Shady Ladies, and maybe a few samples from the band’s anticipated upcoming sixth album they will record in the new year will be performed the evening of August 1, 2015.
Lead singer and guitarist Michael Poulsen elaborates sharing, “2015 is primarily set aside for finishing the writing of our sixth album, recording it, and then taking some time off. When we got this opportunity to play an exclusive show in Odense, it was one we couldn’t resist. It has been five years since we last played a big show in Odense, and we look forward to welcoming our fans from Denmark, elsewhere in Europe, and maybe from around the world as well.”
Volbeat’s most recent release Outlaw Gentleman & Shady Ladies is approaching sales of one million copies worldwide. The title has been certified platimum in their home county of Denmark, alongside Germany and Austria, with gold sales in Finland and Sweden. The album has also been certified gold in Canada. Cumulatively, Volbeat has sold more than three million albums. Over the last two years, the band has travelled the globe, performing over 230 shows in the USA, Canada, Europe, Japan and Australia, highlighted by back-to-back evenings in Horsens and Copenhagen where 37,000 attended a rock party from another world.
Volbeat will reveal the supporting acts for this special night on August 1st in the coming months.
Tusindårsskoven is located close to the centre of Odense and is known for hosting for instance the Vi Rocker (We Rock!) shows. It is also the location of the upcoming Tinderbox Festival in June next year. In the spring of 2015 the area will undergo major renovations to fit an even bigger audience and to give the guests the best possible outdoor concert experience.
