ANNIHILATOR have posted more rare footage from the band’s Japanese tour in 1993. The clip below features ‘Set The World On Fire’ and ‘W.T.Y.D.’:
“This short tour had Jeff Waters on guitar, Randy Black on drums, Aaron Randall on vocals but with a twist! Rhythm guitarist Dave Davis had to move over to bass guitar with three days notice (two of those days being travel days!) as then bassist Wayne Darley could not make it to Japan (and that was the last time Wayne played with the band). Dave Davis did a fantastic job all things considered and Jeff had his own hell to deal with; he had to figure out which of the usual two guitar parts he should play. Annihilator is not a band where only one guitar player can do… the music is written for two guitar players. Despite this, the tour was a huge success and only topped by the King Of The Kill tour 1995. This is raw board audio and an in-house auto camera system.”
Annihilator recently posted footage online of the band covering JUDAS PRIEST’s ‘Hell Bent For Leather’ in Tokyo from the same tour:
This was a very successful short tour for the band and led to Annihilator’s biggest selling tour and CD in 1995, King Of The Kill.
Note that Waters gets crushed at the end. He quickly admitted after the show “that was one of the stupidest things I’ve ever done; 3000 kids pushing towards me!”
