‘Walking With Fire’

Brazilian Heavy Metal Pioneers VODU, originally formed in 1985, returned in 2015 after 30 years of its formation, and met again with an unprecedented line-up, with all the current musicians, former members of the band, starting to create new songs and revisiting the tracks of the first albums. The quintet spent a few months preparing the return to the stage, and from then on they continued to do shows and working on the composition of the new album.

The new album, ‘Walking With Fire’, is in the finalization phase, due to the pandemic the release date has been postponed, but for the next few weeks the band should announce a pre-sale, however, it made available a new video, for the track “Say My Name” (watch below). This year the band will also have the re-release on CD of the album “Seeds of Destruction”. The samples of the new material make sure that a great classic Heavy Metal album is coming, and of course, a chapter that promises to be great for this veteran and excellent Brazilian Metal band.

The band’s founders, André “Pomba” Cagni (Bass), currently one of the most influential political activists in politics in São Paulo, militant pro-causa LGBTS and one of the main DJs of the night of São Paulo, Sergio Facci (Drums) – V PROJECT (solo work), FENICIOS, legendary Rock n’ Roll band from São Paulo together with André Gois, former singer, who recorded the first album, Andre also was narrator of the 89 Fm and Brasil 2000 radio stations, and currently on Rádio Eldorado FM, J. Luís “Xinho” Gemignani (Guitar) considered one of the “Guitar Heroes” of Brazilian scene (having even participated in the “G4 Experience” with Joe Satriani, current administrator of Forum Green Notes, and collaborator of publications like Total Guitar Magazine). J. Luís “Xinho” also recorded the 1st LP, “Final Conflict”(1986). And finishing the current line-up, Paulo Lanfranchi ( Guitar), currently playing with the band V PROJECT, and was part of the bandfrom the 2nd LP, “Seeds Of Desctruction” (1988).

VODU was one of the bands that played the most in Brazil – the first Tour – The Final Conflict, with more than 40 shows over Brazil and Argentina, playing with legendary bands, like Venom and Exciter (1986), Motorhead (1987) and Nasty Savage (1988). Vodu’s debut LP “THE FINAL CONFLICT”, released with the support of Rock Brigade Records, was the first LP of Brazilian Heavy Metal with one band only, until then, some split LPs had been released, such as Dorsal Atlantica / Metalmorphose, even Sepultura’s debut was a slip.

Three other LPs marked the band’s career –“SEEDS OF DESTRUCTION” (1988), “NO WAY” (1989) e “ENDLESS TRIP” (1993).

The first album had a reissue in CD (by Classic Metal Label), with a new song, “Playing With Fire” as a bônus track, and also will be the title track of the upcoming CD. The bad was released five new songs in “VOODOO DOOL Demo” in february 2018 (the complete demo is available on the oficial website).
