European symphonic metallers SERENITY have released a teaser for their upcoming fourth full-length album, War Of Ages, out on March 22nd in Germany/Austria/Switzerland, March 25th throughout Europe, with an expected March/April release for North America and Asia.

The album teaser follows:

The new album will introduce a major change in the band’s music and lineup. Since their second album, Serenity did add female voices to its songs, had different guests to perform them live and among them was Clementine Delauney. Going on tour together, the band realized her voice, personality and stage performance was bringing something special to the band’s universe and thought she should be present on the new record. The idea evolved with time… why not have a permanent female voice in the band? And it seems they had found the perfect one both on professional and personal levels. So it came up somehow naturally that Clementine should not be considered “guest” anymore.

Clémentine Delauney is now a full member of Serenity. Thus War Of Ages welcomes Clementine’s voice on lead, backing and choir parts, completing the music with a constant feminine presence.

Says the band: “The band has the will to make its music richer on the vocal side; this is a start of a new approach! Serentiy will explore and use the unlimited musical possibilities of those two outstanding voices, to start with, and War Of Ages is the perfect transition record between what Serenity was and what it will become in the coming years! We hope you share our excitement!”

The amazing artwork was produced by Seth Siro Anton, who was already responsible for the art of the band’s debut album. It likely is his best work to date and the whole cover figurine is just as impressive as the LTD close up.”

WAR OF AGES: ‘Silent Night’ Video Released

“Silent Night”, the new video from Pennsylvania’s WAR OF AGES, can be seen below. The clip was directed by DJ Cosgrove of RSM Creative.

“Silent Night” comes off WAR OF AGES‘ fifth album, “Return To Life”, which was released on April 24 via Facedown Records. The CD was recorded with producer Chris “Zeuss” Harris at Planet Z Studios (SHADOWS FALL, CHIMAIRA, HATEBREED) and it features some of the band’s “most personal material,” according to a press release.

WAR OF AGES has toured with AS I LAY DYING, DEMON HUNTER, SOILWORK, NORMA JEAN, BETWEEN THE BURIED AND ME, and more, and headlined this year’s Facedown Fest on April 7 in Pomona, California.

Commented the band: “We are extremely excited about our ‘Return To Life’ release in every way. Musically, we stuck to our roots, brought back the heavy rhythmic style and mixed it with the maturity of having four previous albums under our belts. We also joined forces with producer Zeuss, who boasts a catalog with names like TERROR, EMMURE, HATEBREED, etc… Not only is this album instrumentally rhythmic, it is also vocally rhythmic. Leroy [Hamp, vocals] stepped out of his comfort zone and ventured into the realms of RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE, COMEBACK KID, and DARKEST HOUR, and mixed each with his own style. We plan to continue in this direction lyrically, vocally, and musically for our future albums.”

“Return To Life” was released on CD, LP and digital formats.
