David Coverdale recently checked in with the following update: “We are busily mixing and editing a live album and a separate in-concert DVD from the Forevermore world tour, plus mixing an special expanded editions of Into The Light and Restless Heart. Plus archiving so much audio and visual material and content from so many years…”
In a brand new interview with Albania’s Top Channel web site, WHITESNAKE frontman David Coverdale was asked what fans can expect from the band in the near future. “I am always reticent to discuss in detail what we’re planning as I still enjoy ‘surprises.'”
He continued, “In this day and age, with global technology and overwhelming social media, it is getting harder and harder to keep anything secret until they are ready to be presented. We host a very interactive global web site with Whitesnake.com and I answer people’s questions as much as I can without giving too much away.”
“We are very, very active this year behind the scenes. Many exciting things in the pipeline. Two projects I can tell you about are related to completing the ‘Forevermore’ project. An in-concert DVD from last year’s tour and also a double live CD featuring different shows. It’s shaping up very well indeed and I think a lot of people will enjoy re-living the concert experience they had with us in 2011. We have also started Whitesnake TV, which is off to a fantastic start and seems to be making a lot of people happy.”
Asked if WHITESNAKE will tour next year, Coverdale said, “There are plans to start in Europe in May, I heard, but as yet there is nothing concrete. But, of course, we hope to be out there again. We have too much fun with audiences to stay at home for too long!”
Regarding whether all his plans involve WHITESNAKE, or if fans can expect any other collaborations or solo projects, Coverdale said, “WHITESNAKE is my priority and at this time I have no other plans to collaborate with other artists. But, you know rock and roll… Everything can change with a phone call.”
According to South Wales Argus, a WHITESNAKE fan is suing the Newport, Wales, United Kingdom council because she was injured after slipping and falling in a puddle of vomit while attending the band’s December 2011 concert in Newport.
Lindy Butcher, 39, who claims that she was not drinking at the show, tells the paper, “It was horrifying, you don’t expect to fall in someone’s vomit.”
As a result of the fall, Butcher claims to have suffered bruising and soreness to both of her knees, as well as muscle spasms between her ribs.
The Newport council says they did what they could to prevent this incident. “It would appear the presence of vomit was reported to staff by a member of the public,” a letter from Newport council’s legal representatives said. “One of the bar staff tried to call for a cleaner. However, it was extremely busy in the bar and cafe areas. In the absence of any detail concerning the actual whereabouts of the vomit and with so many people in the bars, it was difficult to pinpoint immediately where the vomit was located.”
WHITESNAKE frontman David Coverdale has issued the following update:
“We are busily mixing and editing a live album and a separate in-concert DVD from the ‘Forevermore’ world tour, plus mixing an special expanded editions of ‘Into The Light’ and ‘Restless Heart’. Plus archiving so much audio and visual material and content from so many years. But [we’re] definitely not [working on] a whole new studio album at this time. Quite simply we wouldn’t have time to write and record a new studio album. It was never on our agenda for 2012.” WHITESNAKE‘s new album, “Forevermore”, sold around 12,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 49 on The Billboard 200 chart. The CD was recorded, produced and mixed by Los Bros Brutalos (Coverdale, Doug Aldrich and Michael McIntyre).
WHITESNAKE‘s “Live At Donington 1990” DVD/live double CD set was made available on June 3, 2011 in Europe and June 7, 2011 in North America via Frontiers Records.
WHITESNAKE 1990 featured guitar greats Steve Vai and Adrian Vandenberg, bassist Rudy Sarzo, drummer Tommy Aldridge and, of course, incomparable frontman David Coverdale. The “Live At Donington” 1990 DVD also includes a substantial gallery of never-before-seen stills of the band on the “Liquor & Poker World Tour 1990”, plus an intimate behind-the-scenes documentary of the making-of the “Slip Of The Tongue” album.

Fan-filmed video footage of the concert can be seen below.
After three groundbreaking tribute shows entitled “Bonzo: The Groove Remains The Same”, as well as popular demand and a collective passion and respect amongst all the participating drummers, past and present to Bonham, Brian Tichy and Joe Sutton have decided to go for it once again!
WHITESNAKE drummer and “Bonzo’s Birthday Bash” founder Brian Tichy previously stated about the event, “When I first thought of this, the idea seemed too cool and simple NOT to try; get a John Bonham replica drum set, complete with gong and timpani, up front, center stage, and have each drummer perform their favorite LED ZEP song with a house band (THE MOBY DICKS). There are no rules other than to have fun putting your own groove and character into your song choice! It’s such a unique night, seeing how all these great drummers approach the same drum set making it their own! And THE MOBY DICKS hold their own as a true force to be reckoned with! We have structure and within the structure there is total freedom, making the pace and vibe of this show somewhere between a backyard party and a…. backyard party with a killer band playing LED ZEP songs! Haha! Our previous shows were named ‘The Groove Remains The Same’, but this tribute falls on Bonzo‘s exact birthday and we wanted to let that be known!
“I am a tried and true Zep Head; a total Bonzo freak! Bonzo is my lifelong most ‘listened to’ drummer! This is a labor of love. The camaraderie and ego-less respect amongst all involved is something very rare to be a part of these days. Ask any of us! We’ve never been part of a show quite like this before! There has never been a tribute like this to a musician before! John Bonham deserves it! Bonzo’s Birthday Bash is the ultimate tribute show and that’s that!”
THE MOBY DICKS lineup:
* Michael Devin (WHITESNAKE) – bass (Whitesnake)
* Stephen LeBlanc (JASON BONHAM’S LED ZEP EXPERIENCE) – keyboards
* Keith St. John (MONTROSE) – Vocals
* Brian Tichy (S.U.N.) – Guitar, Drums
* Brent Woods (BRENTWOOD FOREST) – Lead And Rhythm Guitars
