What could possibly be a better time of the year to dive headfirst into dark and progressive melodic metal? While the shadows of winter are creeping up upon us and the nights get longer it is the perfect time for “Curse Of Autumn”, the upcoming album from L.A.’s finest WITHERFALL that is scheduled for a release in March 2021.
The album art is once again another hand painted masterpiece by the legendary Kristian Wåhlin, the fourth painting in the WITHERFALL series.
Watch a visualizer clip to see the art in its full glory while listening to the first song, “The Last Scar”:
WITHERFALL comments: “This is a nice a happy one… heavily inspired by an evening on tour in the Czech Republic. Quite possibly one of the most aggressive WITHERFALL songs and certainly a test of stamina for instrumentalists and voices. During the recording Our producer Jon Schaffer really put us to the test on getting these final takes. Both WITHERFALL and our team at Century Media felt this song would be the perfect way to introduce our latest offspring ‘Curse of Autumn’. Like any other WITHERFALL record this one is quite the storm. This is but the first gust of wind…”
US dark melodic metal act WITHERFALL bassist and all around musical madman Anthony Crawford sat down to record an insane Bass Playthrough of Witherfall’s ‘We Are Nothing’ From ‘A Prelude To Sorrow’, watch the result below.
WITHERFALL are currently in the studio recording their third Full Length album, more details soon at http://www.witherfall.com
US dark melodic metal act WITHERFALL announce Tempest Red Blend wine. The band partnered up with one of their favorite California wineries, Carlie & Echo, to bring fans their very own limited edition red blend. The wine will be shipping starting May 1st and is available for purchase HERE.
“With the amount of red wine that various members of Witherfall consume on a daily basis, it is only fitting that we partnered up with one of our favorite California Wineries Charlie & Echo to introduce our very own Witherfall ‘Tempest Red Blend’. Witherfall vocalist Joseph Michael met with Charlie & Echo chief Eric Van Drunen during an event and sampled some of the wines,” states Witherfall about the announcement. During these apocalyptic times, with everyone now shuttered inside, the best way we can think of to cope and escape the madness is to become comfortably numb with a nice bottle of ‘Tempest Red Blend’ accompanied by attractive company and your favorite Witherfall tracks spinning in the background.”
“I was instantly in love with the dark variety of reds i sampled. They perfectly matched my palate. We spoke for a few months and finally we are able to bring you this collaboration,” states Witherfall frontman Joseph Michael.
“We were thrilled when Witherfall approached us about teaming up on a wine, and we’re really pleased with the Tempest Red Blend that we’ve created. A blend of Petite Sirah, Syrah, Nebbiolo and Zinfandel, it exudes depth, complexity and richness, while maintaining a melodic vibrancy. The wine was made completely naturally from a vineyard farmed using only organic methods, so there’s an honesty to it that I think reflects the values of the music,” states Charlie & Echo winemaker, Eric Van Drunen.
Witherfall is currently back in the studio working on their new album. Stay tuned for more details on the band’s forthcoming third full-length album by following the band on socials.

Witherfall Comments:
“We are excited to have the amazingly talented Bruno Valverde on board for the 2019 Keep It True Festival later this April. Our Drummer Steve Bolognese had some scheduling conflicts and we needed to find someone quickly. We are happy to announce that Keep it True Festival will be the first time ever that we perform “Vintage” in it’s entirety. We cannot wait to share what else Witherfall have in store for the future with fans and newcomers alike.”
US dark melodic metal act WITHERFALL recently started touring Europe as support of Sonata Arctica’s »Acoustic Adventures« tour. (Tour dates below). As a special release fitting this tour concept, WITHERFALL also recorded the widely acoustic “Vintage – EP”, which will be released on March 22nd, 2019.
Today, they are releasing the third single from this EP, “A Tale That Wasn’t Right”, which was originally recorded by Helloween and released on the classic “Keeper Of The Seven Keys Part I” album in 1987. You can watch the full video, produced by Don Adams, here:
WITHERFALL comments: “Right after the band landed in the ill-fated Panama City FL to begin recording “A Prelude to Sorrow” the idea of doing an 80s power ballad was drunkenly pondered by the band. On one of Steve Bolognese’ IPA benders he came up with Helloween’s “A Tale That Wasn’t Right”. Though the band recorded the song during the APS sessions, the video was shot during the band’s recent tour of Japan as support for Kamelot. With Japanese tour manager Mia Steinhausen guiding our way, we were amazed and honored to be so welcomed by the fans and label(s) in Japan that we decided to create a little visual tribute as a gift to everyone who helped us out. Seen in the beginning is even a cameo by none other than Masa-Ito! Domo-Arigato”.
The “Vintage EP” is available for pre-ordering now with WITHERFALL offering an exclusive green “Verdigris” vinyl limited to 200 copies alongside t-shirt bundles. The transparent-magenta “Vintage Pinot Noir” vinyl, limited to 100 copies, is already sold out from Century Media’s European Store.
