Our Swedish heavy metal brothers WOLF have recently finished this year’s festival season successfully. Their last appearance was yesterday, on the Ronnie James Dio stage at Bloodstock Open Air 2015 in England. “The crowd grew as Wolf started their set and were loving the crazy Swedes!” commented our very own Blackdiamond who was side stage at their show. “It was great to see Wolf from a different perspective this time – they were full of energy and delivered a fantastic earsplitting set!”
Now, we at Metal Shock Finland have some evidence that shows WOLF are already starting to write material for a new album. On July 27th, vocalist and guitarist of the band, Niklas Stålvind, posted a screen picture of a monitor on his Instagram profile (which can be seen on the right side) and said: “New Wolf songs emerging from Viper Studio.” Today, WOLF posted a status on their official Facebook page, stating: “Bloodstock was a FANTASTIC ending of this festival season. Heading back to Sweden now to work on new material. Metal!” The band have not revealed any more information about this, but we believe the next album won’t be released for quite a while yet.
WOLF released their seventh studio album “Devil Seed” on 25th August 2014 via Century Media Records. The album was described as “a milestone in WOLF’s career” by Metal Shock Finland’s Chief Editor Mohsen Fayazi.
Swedish Heavy Metal heroes ENFORCER are pleased to announce a European headliner tour this fall. On it, they will present their current record “From Beyond”, which was released early this year via Nuclear Blast. Their fellow-countrymen of WOLF will play as direct support and opening support will come from also Sweden-based rock’n’rollers DYNAMITE.
“Feels awesome to finally announce a proper European tour and to be back on the road spreading the disease of »From Beyond« to all maniacs throughout the continent. Let the war begin once again!“
In addition to their tour announcement, the band releases the brand-new music video for the track ‘Undying Evil’ today. Watch the clip here:
Swedish metallers WOLF premiered their new beer ‘Pale Moon Ale’ behind the bar last night (Friday 10th April) at The Tivoli in Helsingborg, Sweden.
WOLF played a big part in developing the ale, which is being made by Heavy Metale Brewery. The band originally announced they were developing a beer during their interview with Metal Shock Finland in Sheffield on their European ‘Devil Seed’ Tour, this last February. For more information check here.
Heavy Metale Brewery explains about the exciting new product:
In collaboration with the newly formed hard rocking micro brewery Heavy Metale Brewery AB, WOLF is launching a Pale Moon Ale the ale will be available to buy the 1st of June.
Heavy Metale is a brewery that wants to unite the love of hard rock with a passion for craft beer and real ale. For us it’s fantastic rock and damn good beer that are the two most important ingredients for a happy life. The brewery also wants with its motto “Ale for All and All for ale show that it is more equitable drinking culture and more quality to rock’n’roll people.
In November 2014 Heavy Metale also launched a beer for Crucified Barbara.
In addition to WOLF– Pale Moon Ale (Pale Ale) and Crucified Barbara – In The Red (Red Ale) , we also have following varieties under our own brand:
White Wheatsnake – A wheat beer a tribute to Whitesnake and David Coverdale
Dead Man’s Hop – An IPA that celebrates rock heroes that has past away
Unbeatable Rock – An IPA based on the love of the big rock hits,
Sweet Lovin ‘- A Pale Ale which embarks with lust and love based on the amazing power ballads created through the ages.
All the beer has a QR code. Band beer Crucified Barbara and Wolf are linked to the band’s latest album so that you can listen to their music while drinking beer. The others has their own playlist directly connected to the music genre that the beer stands for. Learn more about Heavy Metale at www.heavymetale.com which is more of a beer and rock magazine than a regular website where rock articles and beer reviews are drizzling tight.

Back in summer 2014, Swedish ‘old school new blood’ metallers WOLF unleashed their seventh heavy metal offering “Devil Seed”, produced by Jens Bogren. Fans were also treated to an epic no nonsense pure metal video for the track ‘Shark Attack’ prior to the album release.
The band recently started their European “Devil Seed Tour 2015” and have taken their metal shows to Germany, Austria and the Netherlands before hitting the UK shores again.
So Metal Shock Finland caught up with the band on the first date of their UK tour in Sheffield on 4th February. Check out some excerpts from my conversation with drummer Richard Holmgren and bass player Anders Modd below, and the full interview is available on the video.
WOLF Sheffield 2015
Discussing the recording of “Devil Seed”, Richard informed me:
“I was really pleased this time – I could just set up the kit and he just pressed record and after finding that sound we wanna have, we just recorded the songs, like really easy! You just play a five minute song, ‘is it a take?’ – ‘no’ – you just play it again. Five minutes take – ‘yes’ then it was done. We did all the songs like that. I knew from the beginning it would be a really good recording with all of us – Nik’s vocals, guitar solos, everything.
“Working with Jens Bogren has been really good, also really easy. He really understands what Wolf is all about , so it came out perfect. We are really really pleased with this production – I think it’s ten out of ten.”
We went on to talk about WOLF merchandise and Richard and Anders revealed:
“This year there’s gonna be some Wolf ale, so beer drinkers beware! It’s on its way! We’re just starting to get it together and it’s supposed to be released in early summer this year.
We had some ale testing and found a couple we liked, I think they are starting brewing some test ales now, so when we get back home I’m sure we’re gonna have some tasting to do, let’s see what happens!”
Richard – “I think I know what’s gonna happen!”
