Recently the State Of Israel, in co-operation with Israeli Vibe posted online a special video footage about YOSSI SASSI and his way of inventing music, creating a sound that wasn’t there before. In the video YOSSI tells about how he got involved with music and how he came up to create his “bouzoukitara”. Check out the video below:
In 2011, YOSSI SASSI decided to plan an instrument that would later become an “embodiment of his musical journey”. What first began as a seeking for an efficient way to switch between the acoustic Greek Bouzouki to his electric guitar, gave birth to the “Bouzoukitara” – a unique instrument that combines a traditional Greek mandolin (Bouzouki) with an electric solid-body guitar.
Together with Luthier Bejamin Millar, he was able to transform his design into reality. The double-neck instrument has a shared surface, so when one guitar is played it resonates to the open strings of the other guitar, thus allows him to produce some unique sound layers, for example when playing the Electric guitar while recording the Bouzouki going through a Pre-amp or overdrive, capturing the sympathetic harmonies & overtones.

In the summer of 2013 Sassi began working on a new design, code-named “Mark II”. Aided again by Luthier Bejamin Millar, they were able to transform the design into reality – a double-neck instrument, combining an acoustic guitar, electric guitar and an acoustic/electric bouzouki!
Yossi Sassi comments:
“Featuring various modifications from the first model in ergonomics, wood choice, pick-ups, functionality, less weight, new neck angles and much more – this one of a kind instrument is all I can ask for!”

Learning How To Live (single)
Michael Kobrin was born in 1991 in a small port city called “Mariupal” in Ukraine and at the age of 4 moved to Haifa, Israel. As a foreign child Michael was naturally influenced by different cultures. At the age of 11 he started singing in a choir and playing the middle eastern “Darbooka”.
Michael’s father, a boxing trainer, wanted him to become a boxer which eventually didn’t happen. At the age of 13, Michael started playing classical guitar and writing his first songs, which were always inspired by challenges, love and life in the middle east.
At the age of 17 Michael was already performing on stages and winning talent competitions. At that age he wrote his first guitar piece.
in the process of combining classical music with modern rock, blues and folk, Michael discovered the acoustic guitar. Very soon he started discovering new percussive techniques inspired by Roland Dyenz, Andy Mckee and John Mayer. Through listening to rock, pop, oriental and progressive metal songs, step by step, Michael evolved into an out-of-the-ordinary songwriter who combines the Acoustic and Rock worlds.
After finishing music matriculation exams, Michael went to Boston looking for inspiration at a musical program in Brandeis, also had shows at France, Germany, Romania, Italia, Spain and Ukraine. Continuing his vocal studies, Michael Graduated the “BPM College” of Sound & Production.
As a singer, Michael has experience in all genres choosing carefully his unique vocal sounding. In 2012, he started working with his album producer, Yossi Sassi (Orphaned Land co founder). The cooperation led to Michael’s uniquely sounding debut album called “Searching”.
