Interview by Tarja Virmakari
17 years after “Swansong” CARCASS, one of the most influential bands of the whole death metal scene, comes back strongly into the limelight with their new effort “Surgical Steel” (released on September 13th via Nuclear Blast).
One week prior to the release Tarja Virmakari had a long chat (for Truemetal.it) with Jeff Walker. The interview introduces us to the details of “Surgical Steel”. Jeff spoke about the songwriting process, studio sessions, about their signing to Nuclear Blast, the music scene of today and about legal and illegal downloading and upcoming projects; between the questions we also spoke of the episode of the leak of Surgical Steel before the release date… and Jeff revealed some interesting details about it.
