Metal Blade Records has issued the following press release:
Swedish folk metallers FALCONER will release their seventh studio album Armod on June 3/6 via Metal Blade Records in Europe!
The CD features 11 songs completely sung in Swedish and four bonus tracks that are English versions of the band members’ favourite new songs.
The four bonus tracks will only be available with the limited first Digipak edition of Armod!
Comments FALCONER guitarist Stefan Weinerhall: “The album is embracing the Swedish folk music to a greater extent than before making it sound slightly more down to earth. The music spans from acoustic songs with cello, flute and fiddle to songs with blast beats and really heavy riffing. As said before this is a ‘one-time-only’ album and does not define the future sound of FALCONER, but it was about time to pay full notice to the influence that has always made us different. Now we have that out of our system!”
Armod was once again recorded at King Diamond guitarist Andy La Rocque’s Sonic Train Studios in Varberg, Sweden, during December and January.
Armod track listing:
1. Svarta Änkan
2. Dimmornas Drottning
3. Griftefrid

7. Herr Peder Och Hans Syster
8. Eklundapolskan

Metal Blade Records has issued the following press release:
Swedish sleaze and punk influenced metal band SISTER have just released the artwork and tracklisting for the Metal Blade Records debut HATED, due out June 3/6 in Europe. The first single also happens to be the title track of the album, HATED, which the band recently released a teaser video for that can be seen HERE. Listen to the song at the following location: http://www.metalblade.com/sister.
The band talks about the first single HATED: “The first single from the album is the title track HATED. It’s a song about when people close to you fuck things over for you, making your life miserable till the degree that you can’t take it anymore. You get so pissed and frustrated that you start to hate them and want them to hate you too. You want them to despise you and you use that anger as fuel to pull yourself back up. Feed you till you’re up on the top again. We’ve also had a lot of people that have worked against us over the years and this track and album title is kind of a statement as well. A big fuck you to those people. So it’s both the title track and the anthem of the album.
It was a song that took form real quickly and pretty much put together in one evening in the rehearsal. It just came natural and it felt right to have a heavier, low tempo song after some time of writing a lot of fast maybe more punk feeling songs. Though, this one still has the punk edge like all our work of course.”
Tracklisting HATED:
1. Radioactive Misery
2. Body Blow
3. Bullshit & Backstabbing
4. HATED
5. Motherfuckers (like you)
6. Werewolves on Blackstreet
7. Spit on Me
8. The Unlucky Minority
9. Would You Love A Creature
10. Too Bad For You
11. Drag Me to the Grave
Cover art for HATED was created by Kim Oktavia who is an artist/tattoo artist in Stockholm Sweden and photographer Axel Engström, also from Stockholm Sweden. The band comments; “The cover art for the album are made of us and our close friends Kim Oktavia and Axel Engström. Kim is the bands tattoo artist pretty much as the whole band gets their tattoos at her studio. She worked with the pictures that we took with Axel and really made them come to life. We did the layout with Axel afterwards and we are stoked over the result. The final cover and booklet blows our minds every time we see it. We have taken photos with Axel a lot times and it felt right to work with people that really understand what we want and are on the same page all the time. So it couldn’t have been better and when everybody sees the result they will see what we mean.”
About the band: SISTER, who hails from Stockholm/Jönkoping Sweden, formed in early 2006 working hard to build up a name as a strong act both live and in the studio. SISTER consists of 4 members- Jamie on vocals, Lestat on guitars and backing vocals, Rikki on bass and backing vocals, and Cari on drums and backing vocals- who combine the sounds of Punk, Glam, Rock, and Metal with an end result sounding something like the bastard child of GG Allin and Guns N’ Roses.
SISTER’s Metal Blade debut HATED will be annihilating the world come June 3rd/6th, 2011. Stay tuned to MetalBlade.com and the band’s websites for further details over the coming months.
Finnish metallers CHILDREN OF BODOM will embark on a North American headlining tour in late June. Main support on the month-long trek will come from THE DEVIN TOWNSEND PROJECT, with openers OBSCURA and SEPTICFLESH rotating positions each night.
“We are psyched to see all of our friends in North America and to play our new songs live for all of the BODOM maniacs,” commented CHILDREN OF BODOM guitarist/vocalist Alexi Laiho. “Get ready to throw it down!”
So far only one date has been released: July 19 at The Palladium in Worcester, Massachusetts.
Drum-cam footage of Johan Nunez from multi-national thrashers NIGHTRAGE playing one of the band’s new songs can be viewed below.
NIGHTRAGE recently completed work on 15 songs during the pre-production phase for its as-yet-untitled fifth album, which the band plans to officially start recording in June. The CD will be released via Lifeforce Records in Europe and North America (release dates to be revealed soon). Floga Records from Greece will make the effort available on limited-edition vinyl.
NIGHTRAGE‘s forthcoming album will feature a guest appearance by the band’s former frontman Tomas Lindberg (also known for his work with AT THE GATES, THE CROWN and LOCK UP). Lindberg appeared on the band’s first two albums — 2003’s “Sweet Vengeance” and 2005’s “Descent Into Chaos” — before being replaced by Jimmie Strimell, who sang on 2007’s “A New Disease Is Born”.
Current NIGHTRAGE vocalist Antony Hämäläinen made his recording debut with the band on 2009’s “Wearing A Martyr’s Crown”.
Commented guitarist/mainman Marios Iliopoulos: “This time we have chosen a different approach in the recording process. All drums, bass, and guitars will be recorded at Zero Gravity Studios in Athens, Greece. Some of you might remember, this location was the set for our latest video ‘Wearing A Martyr’s Crown’.
“On this record we want to break up the monotony of the typical Scandinavian weather/scenery and head to one of the most beautiful countries this band has ever played. So once again, Greece is our destination!
“Antony [Hämäläinen, vocals] will head into Arcane Digital Recording (located in sunny Chandler, Arizona USA) with our good friend Ryan Butler (LANDMINE MARATHON, MISERY INDEX, PHOBIA, EXHUMED) for the vocal recordings. Another first for the band, trying out an American studio will be an interesting change. But for those of you who know Ryan‘s work, you can expect the result to be old school and punishing.
“Of course, our album would not be complete without the help from our longtime producer Fredrik Nordström (DIMMU BORGIR, OPETH, IN FLAMES, THE HAUNTED, EXHUMATION, FIREWIND), who will drum edit, reamp, mix and master the album in Studio Fredman. We trust our longtime friend Fredrik will do an amazing job once again. He’s been stunned by the quality of our new songs and is looking forward to working with us again.”
“Wearing A Martyr’s Crown” was released in North America on August 4, 2009 via Lifeforce Records.
