Metal Shock Finland (World Assault )

Georgia’s # 1 Nu Metal Band REMA was formed in 2002  by Kobi Manjgaladze (guitar). REMA are: Kobi – guitar, George – bass, Gig – drums, Nick – vocals. MSFinland’s Kostya had a chance to interview the band, here’s what he found out…

1. Hi Rema. Welcome to metalshokfinland. How are you?

Hi! We are fine, as usual 😉

2. Lets start with the most important question – What did you eat today? They say georgian table is the best among others.

Yeah, Georgian cuisine is a real art! Nevertheless it may sound strange but today we had some pizza & beer 😉

3. Tell us a little bit about the band’s history

Oh, actually it was 2002 when REMA started. Our guitar-player Kobi was at the origin of the band’s creation history. If you look through our official bio you’ll definitely notice a huge amount of changes in the band’s lineup… And not a long ago we changed our music style as well, but now it seems we gonna keep the current lineup and try to achieve our goals in this formation.

4. What musicians/bands influence you the most?

Huh, there must be some sort of a huge list… Starting from Dream Theater, Whitesnake, Aerosmith and Van Halen and ending up with Bon Jovi, Nickelback, Linkin Park, Korn, 30 Seconds To Mars, Metallica and Breakin’ Benjamin.

5. How it is to be a metal band in Georgia? Is there audience?

It’s not too easy to play metal in Georgia. We are a small country, you know, with a rather limited amount of audience listening to metal music. But anyway it is pretty interesting too, coz you have to do your real best in order to attract people’s attention and love, and we also have to work our asses off to be noticed abroad. This is our main prerogative and goal at the moment.

6. This year you performed at “Anki Rock Fest” – the bigest metal festival in Turkey. Tell us about this festival.

Oh, it was just awesome! It’s really one of the biggest fests in Turkey. This year we shared stage with lots of great bands, it was amazing and we got some new experience and positive impression of the Fest. Turkish fans are just incredible, I must say – they are among the best ones in the world I guess.

7. In 2012 you shall go in Dubai. But how did you manage to get there?

Oh, it is due to the great job of our producer – Mr. DJ Rock! He always finds us some exotic places to play, ha-ha… But we like it and ready to go and perform wherever there is an audience to play for!

8. What are your future plans?

Video, Full-length album, Tours – everything to fucking rock any stage in the whole world! 😉

9. The world tour is near, isn’t it? I’m sure a lot of people wish to see you live.

10. Last question – what would you like to say at farewell to the redears of metalshokfinland?

First of all let us thank you for your interest in our band! We’d like to wish you all the success and just to go on with your activities, especially to pay attention to the bands from less “promoted” states like you did with us We hail you from Tbilisi, Georgia!
