Formed in April 2006 by Martino Pighi (drums) and Loris Marchiori (guitar and vocals), Ratmataz was created by their love of great Rock’n’Roll and after the 3rd member of the band Diego Franchini left in 2009, Alberto Bianchi was hired as the new bassist and the band became re-established sending out waves of hard-rock heavily influenced by classic hard rock bands such as Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, AC/DC and Free.
Basically, we have ourselves a very fun loving hard-rock album here, crammed full of influences and passion for good solid music. As the album starts you are thrown head first into what some may simply say everything that made AC/DC great with the highly powerful riffs, super strength vocal lines, and solos which combine R’n’R/Jazz/Blues/Rock.
Song by song you are given rock at its best, with little passages from the guitars which combine everything that I grew up listening to. At any given time you could be listening to Aerosmith, GnR, Deep Purple, Meatloaf, and many more. ‘Marchiori‘ really takes the vocals to another level with extremely powerful melodies and body moving rhythms. The drums and bass keep everything so tidy and well paced whilst the music takes you on an ever elusive journey. This is driving music at its best.
So let’s get obscure for a moment and listen to the complexities of ‘Angel‘ and the Spanish-esq guitars and techniques. The tracks intro is something onto itself, before it kicks in and you are glad you kept listening to it.
Track by track you are given blasts of really great addictive music with fantastic beats and melodies to keep you hooked throughout. Enter the track ‘Too Late‘ with the gentle melody lines and well constructed solos and rhythms and you basically have the perfect all-rounder for a great anthem song.
Overall, Global Revolution is a fun-loving album for anyone who enjoys good solid Rock!
