Metal Shock Finland (World Assault )

Legendary Teutonic heavy metallers ACCEPT have already announced that they have  confirmed for this years British Bloodstock Festival. The band has recently posted the following on their official website:

“Fact is: UK has been very much the plateau from where ACCEPT took off. The metaphor HEAVY METAL has just been invented, when an unknown 5 piece bunch of wild Germans got the amazing chance to open up for JUDAS PRIEST…The newly crowned METAL GODS! No one was prepared for the surprise: Something was going on with that opener – the Brits gave them a very warm welcome and the band gave stunning performances. From then on, ACCEPT with the support of KERRANG! the hippest Metal Magazine on the planet  and a world wide audience – now called METAL FANS made History and that was the year – 1981!    Times have changed, Fans grew up and ACCEPT had a fascinating run over the decades. However, it was and is Malcom Dome, KERRANG! and BLOODSTOCK who got the band ACCEPT back in 2013 presenting their anthems and their back to back newest albums BLOOD OF THE NATIONS & STALINGRAD (both album of the year in most countries they toured since 2010 and – of course – their unforgettable classics. You know them, you screeam and raise your firsts  and…they hit you back with their powerful stage performance. Got to be a bloody massacre…”

As previously posted, the band are going to release an Expanded Edition of ACCEPT‘s 1983 breakthrough album, “Balls To The Wall” via Hear No Evil Records / Cherry Red Records on May 27th in Europe and on May 28th in North America.

Controversial at the time for its cover and some of the album’s themes, it was also their greatest commercial success, reaching number 75 in the US Billboard Hot 100. Balls To The Wall”received gold status in the US, partly off the back of the heavy rotation the title track’s video received on MTV.

Taking much of their inspiration from the likes of fellow German hard-rockers the SCORPIONS, as well as a debt to UK metal legends JUDAS PRIEST, ACCEPT were fronted by the inimitable Udo Dirkschneider on vocals, backed by lead guitar heroes Wolf Hoffmann and Herman Frank and the backbone of bassist Peter Baltes and drummer Stefan Kaufmann.

The album is now backed by the bonus CD Staying A Life, a live album recorded at the Festival Hall, Osaka, Japan on September 18th, 1985. As well as storming live versions of key tracks from Balls To The Wall, it features many ACCEPT classics including ‘Breaker’, ‘Princess Of The Dawn’, ‘Restless And Wild’, ‘Son Of A Bitch’ and ‘Fast As A Shark’.

An expanded booklet features new liner notes from Classic Rock and Metal Hammer’s Malcolm Dome, commissioned for this release.
