VADER is in the States and brings fresh news from the frontier of their tour over the New Continent. For the upcoming weeks we’re gonna publish their tour blog from Back to the Black US tour 2013. Stay tuned! \m/
19.09.2013 Raleigh, NC @ Kings
Tonight we are playing downtown. Stairs, stairs and some more stairs…. Luckily, we have stage hands to help with loading in. Nice stage and backstage area. I planned a trip in the vicinity but finally I didn’t have enough time. It’s a middle of week so nobody expected a big crowd. Much to our surprise – a crowd there was 🙂 The whole venue was filled with hungry for Metal Fans. Everybody was satisfied with tonight’s show. We played a whole set and “Hell Awaits” as encore. Slowly I am getting back to shape… however I still keep a rag on the amp to wipe my nose with.

20.09.2013 Charleston, SC @ Oasis
South Carolina…. Jeeezzzz, THAT is hot! Weird looking club – more like a bar than a venue. Gorgeous smell of grilled meat welcomed us at the door! Everybody in the team was starving so we started feasting just when we entered the club! No time for soundcheck. Unfortunately, the club was not so crowded as for Friday night. And it was – just after Detroit – the most dull gig on tour I think. Shit happens… So after a quick show we loaded out even faster. It is a long way to Tampa…
21.09.2013 Tampa, FL@Brass Mug
Tampa is – to be honest – a capital of Death Metal. There’s a bunch of legendary bands coming from this very place. We did not play in Florida for quite a long time. We missed this state on the previous two tours in US and during our last show we had a chance to play…two songs. Vader has many Friends and Fans in this area, though. The show was supposed to take place in “Orpheum” but it was changed to “Brass Mug” a few weeks before. This club is literally a brand new place. When we arrived to the club the area was pretty much deserted and the local crew were still building the stage. It will be great place in the future. Right: it WILL be 😉 The stage was quite nice but front PA not so much. Light system? Four little spotlights with no filters fixed an hour before our arrival. Hmm… Good thing is that our invincible Ray is helping us tonight at the desk. It was Saturday and we had already about 200 presales so it had to be Hell tonight. What am I talking about???? It is Hell ALL the time in Florida! Even in dead of the night. How hpeople are able to live down there at all????? I had a while to visit an “Army&Navy” shop next door before our soundcheck but I found nothing interesting for me. Soundcheck was quick… because power went down 😉 Good that nothing like this happened during our show. Some old friends showed up before the doors were open. Kevin (Deicide) brought a brand new Deicide album on his phone. I met Benton Jr. who looks exactly like his famous father in the 80’s. After the show I found Steve Asheim, Alex Webster and Lee Harrison by the bar. Many Jaeger blasts made my body moving a bit slower so I withdrew to the bus just in right moment. Who did not…dropped dead 😉 How was the show? Impressive!!! Great response, good crowd, proper sound (THX Ray…again!). Our Polish Friends showed up as well. We know each other yet from Chicago. Now they moved down to Tampa. Nice evening … in spite of “funny” story, that happened in the night 😉 But this one might be told only by Halik himself tho 😉 We leave to Atlanta in the morning…
The hottest day on this tour so far. Literally. Exotic plants around the club. We had some problems with power during soundcheck. Friends from Cannibal Corpse or Deicide amongst the crowd. We had also Monika, Tomek and some other Polish visitors before the show. Seven bands tonight! We started pretty late, after midnight. Venue was still full though and the crowd’s response great! Tonight we played “Sword of the Witcher” with Brian singing as guest on stage 😉 Afterparty at the bar which we continue in our bus later on. An “action” with mattress crowned the evening… It had to be replaced with a new one afterwards and it was not my fault 😉 A thing to remember … 🙂
