Metal Blade has announced that In continued partnership with European label, Cyclone Empire, Metal Blade Records is set to release Bodyfarm’s “The Coming Scourge” on February 18th in North America. In an effort to spotlight this excellent underground death metal release, BloodyDisgusting.com has been tapped to stream “The Well of Decay” from the album. The track is streaming now HERE. “The Coming Scourge” was recorded by Harry van Breda, mixed and mastered at Garageland Studios in Sweden by Ronnie Björnstrom, and features cover art by Juanjo Castellano.
Bodyfarm’s Thomas Wouters comments on the song: “We have combined dark melody lines with the heaviness of traditional old school death metal. The lyrical content needed exactly that: darkness, death and brutality.”
Bodyfarm was founded in the late summer of 2009 by Quint Meerbeek (drums) and Thomas Wouters (guitars, vocals) with the intent to play quality death metal with a mind of its own. Their self-titled EP (2010) was well received worldwide. The band followed the EP with “Malevolence” in the summer of 2012 on Cyclone Empire. So far, Bodyfarm has built a solid live reputation in The Netherlands and Germany by playing on festivals such as Extremefest and Neurotic Deathfest. Bodyfarm released their second studio album, “The Coming Scourge,” through Cyclone Empire on September 20th 2013, followed by festival performances at Hell Inside, Zombie Fest and Eindhoven Metal Meeting. On February 18th, 2014, fans in North America will finally be able to pick up copies of the album via Metal Blade Records. Bodyfarm’s video for “Unbroken” is streaming now at metalblade.com/bodyfarm, where fans can also pre-order the album.
