Greek/Swedish melodic death metal band, NIGHTRAGE, has teamed up with MetalSucks.net to stream “Desperate Vows”, a new song from the band’s upcoming sixth studio album, The Puritan, set to release on April 24 through Despotz Records. Stream the new track, featuring a guest vocal appearance from Lawrence Mackrory (Darkane, F.K.Ü.), exclusively at this location.
“‘Desperate Vows’ is the song on the new album with some hit potential, but it still keeps the root metal Nightrage identity,” guitarist/founder Marios Iliopoulos told MetalSucks. “We had the pleasure to work with Lawrence Mackrory from Darkane. I really like his amazing high tones and the metal feelings in his voice. We sometimes like to have some kind of cleaner type of voice tones on our albums, and it proved to be that ‘Desperate Vows’ was the song that was calling for that direction. I think we have achieved to create a song that is still metal and really interesting. It has a more hooky chorus with two different voices complementing each other.”
The Puritan can be pre-ordered online through the Desptoz web-store at: http://despotz.bigcartel.com/artist/nightrage.
The Puritan – an uncompromising, eerie, dramatic and melodic death metal journey in its purest essence – welcomes new Nightrage vocalist, Ronnie Nyman, to the mix. Nyman joins founding member, guitarist Marios Iliopoulos, and bassist, Anders Hammer, after performing with the band last year on its Japanese and Russian tours.
Album number six was produced by Daniel Bergstrand (Meshuggah, Devin Townsend, Soilwork) and George Nerantzis at Dugout Productions in Uppsala, Sweden.

Nightrage was founded in 2000 in Greece by Marios Iliopoulos and his close friend, Gus G., who departed after the band’s second album, Descent into Chaos, to join Ozzy Osbourne.
During the band’s 14 year career, Nightrage has released five studio albums and toured across Europe, the U.S., Canada and Asia while employing various musicians from At The Gates, Evergrey, Dark Tranquility, Amaranthe and Firewind.
Nightrage signed a record/publishing deal with Swedish music company, Despotz, in summer 2014 before entering the studio with Daniel Bergstrand and George Nerantzis.
“Today we are proud to announce that we have signed an album deal with Despotz Records,” commented Iliopoulos on the band’s new label home. “We are super excited to work with such a dedicated bunch of people.”
“Dreams can really come true; Nightrage is a living proof of that,” added Ömer Akay, Despotz Records co-founder and partner. “I’m honored to be working with Marios and Nightrage; we truly have the same background and visions to take the band to the mainstream.”
Nightrage is:
