Tenacity Music is launching the project METAL FOR NEPAL with the objective of collecting funds to help Nepal to rebuild the country. A series of metal shows will be organized in May and June in Switzerland, France and why not elsewhere in Europe! All the money collected will be used for charitable causes on the spot. Two shows are already booked and more than 60 bands (in addition to Tenacity Music’s complete roster) are ready to play for free. For more details, read below the message from Tenacity Music:
As we already know, a huge disaster has struck Nepal on Saturday April 25th 2015. A fatal earthquake followed by an aftershock on Sunday. The current death-toll is heavy with more than 6’200 victims reported. The Nepalese Prime Minister has announced that the final toll might reach up to 10’000 casualties.
Cities and villages are destroyed, the people are living in the streets and are in urgent need of basic necessities.
Today it isn’t as a booker, concert organizer or manager that I’m writing to you, but as a friend of Nepal. I discovered this beautiful country in 2010 while playing at the Silence Festival, the first Nepalese open air festival. Since then, I have kept very good relations with the local community, among which the biggest metal band of the country, UNDERSIDE, with whom we still collaborate regularly (Swiss tour in 2012 and European
tour in 2015).
To provide assistance to Nepal, we just launched the initiative METAL FOR NEPAL. A music tour whose goal is to raise funds in order to help to country to rebuild itself.
The idea would be to organize/promote a series of metal concerts all over Switzerland (and even in France) between May and June 2015. The bands would perform for free and all the revenues generated would be donated to No Silence For Nepal, a Swiss-Nepalese humanitarian organization that will use this money to help people on-site. This association was created in the urgency by two Swiss musicians and Bikrant Shrestha, guitar player for the Nepalese band UNDERSIDE.
Since Monday last week, we already have more than 4’000 likes on our facebook page, more than 100 bands are motivated to perform voluntarily (in addition to Tenacity Music’s roster) and several professionals are ready to do their part. An excellent show of solidarity!
For this project to succeed and reach a maximum of contributors, we need your help.
