UK-based extreme metal terrorizers, ANAAL NATHRAKH, will kick off their long-awaited North American live infiltration next week! Commencing this Monday in Sacramento, California guitarist/bassist/programmer Mick Kenney and vocalist David Hunt AKA V.I.T.R.I.O.L., with live recruits — drummer Steve Powell (ex-Detrimentum, ex-Theoktony), guitarist Jay Walford (Vicious Bastard, ex-Malevolent Creation live guitarist) and bassist Dunc Wilkins (Hordes, Fukpig) – will wage their sadistic sounds upon a dozen metropolises, with their final massacre to take place at this year’s Maryland Deathfest on May 24th in Baltimore. The band will be joined by special guests Incite and atmospheric, doom-touting labelmates, SECRETS OF THE SKY.

ANAAL NATHRAKH will be touring in support of their eighth studio effort, Desideratum, released via Metal Blade Records last Fall. Named, “one of the most utterly fearsome and inventive outfits currently operating in the modern extreme metal scene,” by Decibel Magazine, “impossibly abrasive and brutal,” by MetalSucks, and applauded by Metal Injection for consistently offering up, “their own special breed of terrifying, mixing up grindcore speediness with giant choruses and riffs that are the audible equivalent of total nuclear annihilation,” ANAAL NATHRAKH‘s quaking tones of terror are at once petrifying and inexplicably inviting, the duo’s maniacal musical dexterity, ingenuity and breadth, married with an intensely cynical intelligence is virtually unmatched in the metal world.
SECRETS OF THE SKY will be teasing songs from their forthcoming full-length, Pathway. Engineered, mixed, mastered and co-produced by Juan Urteaga (Machine Head, Testament, Sadus etc.) of Trident Studios with SECRETS OF THE SKY, Pathway is the gargantuan, thirteen-track follow-up to 2013’s critically-lauded To Sail Black Waters long player. Dark, ominous, fluid and engrossing, Pathway finds SECRETS OF THE SKY at their most poignant. In a near perfect 9/10 review, Dead Rhetoric rightfully crowns the record, “an emotionally draining journey… the type of album that you can just close your eyes and visualize your own tale, even as some parts seem to prop up only after repeated listens,” further championing Pathway for having, “all of the inner workings of a great and resonating album,” while Metal Injection christened first single, “Three Swords” alone a “progressive metal masterpiece.”
