MASTERCASTLE is a heavy metal band formed in 2008 in Italy by the guitarist Pier Gonella and the vocalist Giorgia Gueglio, and joined by bassist Steve Vawamas right from the beginning. After various drummer changes, today behind the drumkit we see Francesco La Rosa. No fixed genre was chosen, with the emphasis being on producing music in a natural way. In 2014 the band signed a deal with Scarlet Records for the release of the fifth album, titled “Enfer (De La Bibliothèque Nationale)”, which received very good feedback worldwide. The album is described by the band as their heaviest effort to date, while still maintaining their trademark sound and with a special mention for the strongest production the band have ever benefited from.
On May 29th, Tarja Virmakari met Pier Gonella and Giorgia Gueglio at Comunictà Giovanile, in Busto Arsizio (Italy) where MASTERCASTLE played together with VERDE LAURO. For that concert Mastercastle had a guest drummer, Alessio Spallarossa. The discussed topics were around the music itself, the latest album “Enfer”, Verde Lauro, Musicart, Odyssea, but Pier gave also some hints about the upcoming album, which MASTERCASTLE will start to work on this summer.
