The 2015 Classic Rock Roll Of Honour takes place on Wednesday, November 11th, at The Roundhouse, London.
It’s the star-studded night where the great and good of high-voltage rock’n’roll will get together to celebrate talent both old and new – from those bands making their debut on the scene, to those who began it all…
But, of course, we couldn’t do any of this without your help. We might have come up with the nominations shortlist, but the final decision as to who will win the Album Of The Year, Best New Band, Reissue Of The Year, Band Of The Year and Film Of The Year categories rests with YOU.
AC/DC OR STATUS QUO OR LED ZEPPELIN OR IRON MAIDEN OR THE ROLLING STONES OR FAITH NO MORE OR SLASH OR CSN&Y OR RUSH OR THE BEATLES…
Following last year’s triumphant appearance at Los Angeles’ prestigious AVALON Hollywood, the Classic Rock Roll Of Honour returns to the UK to celebrate another exceptional year of rock. Led Zeppelin are once again dominating the charts with their reissues, AC/DC played triumphant stadium shows and released another acclaimed album, Faith No More returned to huge critical praise and Royal Blood continued their rapid rise, to name just a few highlights. There is also the new breed of bands coming through such as We Are Harlot, Kill It Kid and Wolf Alice looking set to stake their own claim in rock history.
With five public voted categories, the Foo Fighters, AC/DC, Rush, Halestorm and Joe Bonamassa all receive multiple nominations. Band Of The Year is populated by some of the biggest stadium acts in the world and have combined album sales of over half a billion. The Foo Fighters most recently played to over 125k at the Milton Keynes Bowl (5 September), supported by Album Of The Year nominees Royal Blood, proving rock continues to be the benchmark of quality in a world of TV pop-based talent shows.
The evenings’ host is Chris Jericho, frontman of rock band Fozzy and world renowned wrestler. With a reputation that precedes him, Jericho has wrestled for over 15 years, claimed over 30 world titles including six with WWE. An avid musician, his band Fozzy play all over the world. Fozzy released their sixth and most recent album ‘Do You Wanna Start A War’ in 2014 to critical acclaim. Jericho also hosts the TeamRock World Rock Chart every Sunday on TeamRock radio.
Siân Llewellyn, Editor of Classic Rock, says, “What a great 12 months it’s been for high-voltage rock’n’roll. And what a year for us to return to the Roll Of Honour’s spiritual home at London’s Roundhouse after celebrating its tenth anniversary in Hollywood. With fantastic new bands to celebrate and brilliant albums to consider it was trickier than ever to nail down our nomination shortlist. Put simply, it means that the Classic Rock Awards will be another brilliant evening of rock’n’roll celebration!”
