Romanian rockers DIRTY SHIRT have released a new video for the song ‘Maramu’, taken from their album ‘Dirtylicious’. It was directed by Cristian Bălănean (Om Creatives) and Sergiu Negrean (Pixel Battalion). Watch the video below.
As the song is inspired by several traditional songs from the region of Maramureș (Northwest Transylvania, Romania), the video captures its ambiance through the music and the images. This is why the video was shot in the village of Sugău, near Sighetu Marmației, the ancient capital of Maramureș, and why the musicians were wearing traditional costumes.
Let’s read what Dirty Shirt itself has to say about the shooting of the video:
” Last weekend of august when the video was shooted was a memorable day for us. Although we were tired after Friday night’s concert and had to wake up very early to begin work on the video under the guidance of our guitar player, Cristi, once we put on the traditional costumes the tiredness vanished. Throughout the day we combined work (shooting the video) and fun (eating and drinking good home-made stuff). No words are enough to thank the Turda family for hosting us. They baked bread for us (it appears in the video) and made sure we had the best working conditions (technical and logistical)”
Dirty Shirt released their brand new record, “Dirtylicious” , on April 26th 2015, with stellar reviews from critics – both local and international, who have remorselessly praised the album, which received only top marks.
The band is currently preparing an European tour, with future dates to be announced. Dirty Shirt has won second place at last year’s edition of Wacken Metal Battle (part of the prestigious Wacken Festival) and has also earned the support of the Wacken Foundation for its national tour, making them the only Romanian band to receive this honor. Furthermore, Dirty Shirt is an official endorser of Washburn and Randall.
