DIRTY SHIRT, the best known crossover folkcore metal band from Romania and Eastern Europe announced a unique and very ambitious project: a tour with a complete traditional orchestra, followed by the release of a live album. Here is the message the band posted on their official Facebook page:
“Dear Friends, it is time to let you know about the crazy project that we are planning for next year: a tour with a complete traditional orchestra in Romania (Ansamblul Folcloric National Transilvania) followed by the release of a live album in CD and DVD format. We know it is a very project, an artistic, technical and logistical challenge, but we believe that its artistic potential is huge, it is something never done before, and this is why we are taking this risk. Such a project, nonetheless, implies considerable production costs, and the income from ticketing is insufficient. This is why we started a crowdfunding campaign. Apart from this, several applications for subsidies are pending. However, we know that with your help we can achieve something unique. If the budget for the big production is not met, we will move on with our plans for the tour and the live album with a smaller-scale production involving only Dirty Shirt and a taraf (a small traditional orchestra).
If you want to support us, you can take part in the crowdfunding campaign and in exchange you will be rewarded with cool things: albums, t-shirts, etc. And if you consider coming to one of our shows and having a nice holiday in Romania, we can help you find the best travel and accommodation solutions. DIRTY SHIRT is a top Romanian rock/metal band, winner of the second place at the international final of Wacken Metal Battle 2014. The band’s unique style derives from mixing the heavy sound of modern rock/metal with the festive ambiance of East-European traditional music, the eclecticism of world music (country, reggae and tribal rhythms), the electro sound of industrial music, the energy of hardcore, and the groove of funk.
