EMILIANO TESSITORE – GuitarPlayer for Vinnie Moore, Mark Boals, Uli Jon Roth, Edu Falaschi, Stage of Reality, Ehfar – has released a new video ‘The Weaver’s Checkmate’, watch it below.
This track is a chess game with oneself in which the notes are unexpected moves. The light introduction is the opening, with the arrival of the drums the first pawns are exchanged before arriving at the explosion of the refrain where the King is put in checkmate. At that point the breaks that represent the stalemate begin, the moves are no longer trivial and obvious. The solo gives way to the right insight that will lead to Checkmate in the last refrain.
Emiliano shared:
I was a good chess player as a kid and I remember really liking “The Barber’s Checkmate…” I am not a barber, I also have very little hair, but I am a “Weaver”; hence the title “The Weaver’s Checkmate.”
