Kicking off Humans World Tour 2023: ROCKIN’ 1000, the Biggest Rock Band in the World, born in 2015 with a viral video inviting the Foo Fighters to play in Italy, announces the long-awaited journey through new countries to fill stadiums around the world thanks to concerts where 1,000 musicians perform simultaneously: two hours of pure rock where it will be impossible to sit still.
At the show’s heart, there’s music as a universal language, erasing borders and breaking down geographic, social, and cultural barriers by bringing to the stage – an entire soccer field – a musical tsunami generated by 1,000 individuals coming from all over the world to play together. Capable of generating a wall of sound that is difficult to measure, Rockin’1000 exports this incredible experience to the world with a tour involving new countries, as it has already done in Brazil, France, Germany, and Italy. Starting off in Mexico City on April 22, then stopping in Bogotà on May 20 and Madrid on June 3: these are the first three official dates, but more could be coming, including special events and stadium concerts.
“Realizing the dream of anyone who can sing or play has always been our mission; it was so in 2015 in Cesena, and it is still today with the announcement of our world tour,” declares Fabio Zaffagnini, Founder of Rockin’1000 – “For our first World Tour, we chose the word Humans, which is bound to a theme that we treasure. The virtual universe, AI, and the digital world all give access to limitless horizons full of fascination, but we risk getting lost; while making use of them daily, we still want to keep ourselves humans, to enjoy physical contact, a hug, emotions, the deep feeling of a firsthand experience in the real world. The concert we will take on tour, involving thousands of musicians from all over the world, will be precisely that: a powerful, physical experience.”
Fabio Zaffagnini continues: “Latin America is a land of rockers, and that’s what makes us feel at home, even if we come from a country thousands of kilometers away. Mexico City and Bogotà will be two memorable shows, we worked a lot on the scenography and on the lineup. It will be a journey through the history of Rock’n’roll, from the 1960s to the present day. We will play our first original song, which we have been working on for over a year, and there will be challenges such as Bohemian Rhapsody, one of the most complex rock songs of all time. We are very grateful to Ocesa, who is believing in us and making a major contribution to our dream of bringing together all the musicians of the world.”
During a press conference held in Mexico yesterday, Rockin’1000 unveiled the two new Latin American stages: the first at Mexico City’s Foro Sol venue (Saturday, April 22) and a month later at Bogota’s El Campin Stadium (Saturday, May 20) – the two Mexico and Colombia dates are produced in collaboration with Ocesa – the biggest promoter of concerts, music festivals and live events in Latin America.
The two dates are added to the one in Spain at the Estadio Cívitas Metropolitano in Madrid (Saturday, June 3), in collaboration with Fever and Sold Out.
Shows will adopt the 360° mode, the arrangement of musicians that allows the audience full visual and aural enjoyment from anywhere in the bleachers. The show, lasting about two hours, involves an army of instruments: drums, guitars, basses, keyboards, and singers. It features a repertoire of 20 iconic songs that have made Rock History, thanks to the likes of bands such as Nirvana, Foo Fighters, Rolling Stones, Rage Against The Machine, The Who, Pixies, and many others! But in addition to the great classics of international rock music, the set list includes several new songs, some of which have never before been performed by 1000 musicians:
- some iconic songs from Mexican and Colombian rock culture
- a special medley dedicated to The Kinks to celebrate the 60th anniversary of one of the most influential British rock bands, with some of their most iconic songs, including You Really Got Me, already in the historical repertoire of Rockin’1000
- an original song – the first composed and arranged by the Rockin’1000 Community that will be performed for the first time by a thousand musicians in unison!
