Darkness is a very popular topic in all its aspects in metal music. In their new single “Ignite”, Insania.11 narrate of a dystopian apocalyptic but not impossible future where the sky has been irremediably darkened by a thermonuclear catastrophe that contaminated everything.
The presumptuous and confident Sun worshippers wrongly assumed they can harness its energy through science and make it “splendere in una fossa” (shine in a pit).
The planet is now a vast blaze, and the atmosphere is saturated with smoke and ash.
The processions of emaciated survivors proceed at martial pace, worn out and consumed by a toxic desert, forced to feed enormous ritual bonfires to tear a darkness that has become eternal.
The voice desperately cries out in grief, “Brucia! Brucia il mondo!” (Burns! The world burns!) with a piercing and cutting scream as acidic as the undrinkable waters. As the drums pound at super fast speed like a countdown to extinction, the guitar strings paint a boiling, volatile landscape through odd, dissonant, and suffocating riffs.
The obsessive cult of hydrocarbons and consumption here becomes the symbol of a system founded on greed and predation, in a disturbing parallel between modern “black gold” and the ancient Cult of the Sun later absorbed by Christianity: idolatry leads only to destruction; history teaches us, but mankind refuses to learn.
In “Ignite“, it’s not just metal that’s blackened but also the Earth’s atmosphere now blackened by ash, while death metal takes on its most radical meaning: the death of the planet, extinction on its knees before a huge bonfire fueled by our greed.
“Ignite” is the second single and seventh installment from “Il mondo aldilà“, a concept album that explores the liminal worlds on the edge between life and non-life. The album will be available in physical copies on all platforms from June 26th.

Insania.11 arose from the ashes of Insania, a thrash(core) band active between 1989 and 1997 of which traces remain in a demo and some rough recordings. The project took shape in 2008 as a studio entity led by Samaang, culminating in the 2010 EP “I Diari di Samaang: lo Stato Larvale.”
After an attempted reunion with part of the original lineup, the project consolidated around the core of Samaang and Ethrum, resulting in “Di Sangue e di Luce” (2017), a work well received by the specialized press despite limited distribution.
After a journey complicated by negative experiences and delays, “L’Orrore” was released in 2019.
The writing of the following material began in 2019 and was affected by the pandemic isolation, which expanded the creative process into a broad and structured work. Alongside the composition, a unified concept took shape and vocal techniques were refined thanks to Scream Studios. Furthermore, the completion of the arrangements and recordings the project reached its final form with the support of Marco Allemandi, who handled the mixing and mastering at his studio, Triora Records.
