Today, rising Los Angeles alt-pop band Evening Elephants release “Lazy Cries,” a new track off their forthcoming debut album Wholeheartedly, Terribly Sweet out July 31st.
Arriving on the heels of the band’s mainstage performance at Gov Ball, which Rolling Stone named “one of the best moments of Gov Ball 2026,” “Lazy Cries” marks the third single to come this year in the band’s new era.
“’Lazy Cries’ is a song on the album we had the pleasure of making with our friend and talented producer, Jason Suwito. The song came together lyrically after having a conversation around relationships and the idea of ‘crying wolf.’
The endless physical cycle of dealing with the same problems over and over until you’re at the point of exhaustion. How many times can you cry about something I’ve fixed or tried to fix? ”
-Sam Boggs, Lead Singer of Evening Elephants

The new music captures a defining shift for the band, exploring the tension between the raw, chaotic energy that built their audience and the realities of scaling something bigger. As anticipation builds toward the album’s July 31 release, the band continues to establish themselves as one of alternative pop’s most exciting emerging voices with a Lollapalooza set on the horizon this summer. They will also head on a North American headline tour with legs in Europe and Australia. See below for full North American tour routing.

About Evening Elephants:
Evening Elephants, the rising alt-pop band featuring frontman Sam Boggs, are turning grassroots chaos into national momentum. What began at pop-up Los Angeles backyard shows has evolved into sold-out dates, a viral New York City street takeover, and festival slots at Governor’s Ball, Lollapalooza, London Calling, Electric Forest and more.
With over 80 million streams to date, their breakout single “Snow on The Bluff” has surpassed 45 million streams and earned co-signs from Shaun White, Nina Dobrev, and Ana de Armas. The band’s growing profile has also led to major syncs with EA Sports and the NFL, a feature on the in-game soundtrack of the FIFA Heroes video game, and a two-track promotion in McDonald’s x SoundCloud’s FIFA World Cup campaign.
In 2026, Evening Elephants ushered in a new chapter with “Simple Things,” followed by “A Digital Touch,” which NPR praised as one of its “Best New Songs.” Their ascent continued with a standout Governors Ball performance that Rolling Stone called “one of the best moments from Gov Ball 2026.”
Now, the band builds on that breakout year with its latest single, “Lazy Cries,” and momentum continues to build as the band gears up for the release of their debut album, Wholeheartedly, Terribly Sweet, arriving July 31st.
