The visual architecture of Swedish dark alternative metal has reached a cinematic milestone with the premiere of the new music video for “Emptiness Inside” by Gothenburg veterans Outshine. Directed by the acclaimed visionary Kenny Boufadene at Studio Meltdown in Uddebo, Sweden, the video serves as a monumental turning point in the band’s narrative legacy. This release marks the third installment in an interconnected four-part visual saga, expanding upon the dark, prophetic themes established in their previous singles. Boufadene, renowned for his exceptional visual work with prominent rock and metal acts like Ice Age, Manimal, and We Are The Castalyst, brings a bleak yet striking aesthetic to life, perfectly matching the band’s signature melancholic atmosphere. Truthsayer, was recently released on June 26, 2026 via rock and metal record label Eclipse Records.
The narrative thrust of the video follows the ongoing journey of Reverend Boman, an enigmatic character who first emerged during the band’s previous album cycle. As a direct continuation of the storylines established in the promotional clips for the singles Enough and You Are Not Alone, the plot serves as an allegory for modern societal fractures. The storyline delves deeply into the profound isolation and psychological toll experienced by ordinary individuals when global forces employ divide-and-conquer tactics. According to founding vocalist Jimmy Boman, the visual representation captures the precise moment where the common man balances on the brink of absolute madness. Ultimately, the video transforms the viewer from a passive observer into an active participant in the band’s message of global equity. By the climax of the futuristic timeline, the narrative makes it clear that the awakening cannot be stopped, inviting the audience to join the fold. Outshine demonstrates that strength lies purely in numbers, suggesting that everyone who stands against the current societal division is actively becoming a “Truthsayer”.

The brilliant new dark alternative metal album from Outshine titled Truthsayer has something for every rock and metal fan, including rich guitar work, haunting keys, a powerful back beat, and mesmerizing vocals. Musically, the feel is wonderfully diverse, with parts and parcels working together to craft a vision both dark and distinct, yet hopeful. The keys are eerie and foreboding, leading us down shadowed corridors with hypnotic vocal harmonies that often split into octaves, as if to show contrasting views of the world existing atop each other like fog on cobblestone and the sun on the sea. Lyrically, the band blasts the elite, biased media and totalitarianism, depicting a world distorted with poison as common people are kept in a metaphorical asylum of sorts, locked in their rooms, screaming silently from behind sound-proofed glass. It puts us slightly off balance, as these messages of doom are superimposed on music with such a chunk and satisfying groove vibe. In the end, the band tells us that shadows recede. Hell turns to hope. Night ends with dawn, and the ashes of a scorched earth can produce an awesome rising phoenix. This band is for real, and Truthsayer is nothing less than a magnificent megaphone. Altogether, the album contains nine tracks, including standouts like “Enough” “You Are Not Alone,” and “Emptiness Inside.” The album artwork, created by Jimmy Boman, mirrors the album’s dark, yet hopeful mood. The album was recently released on June 26, 2026 via Eclipse Records.
