Today, GARGANT proudly presents “Fallen King”, the latest music video from the acclaimed debut album “Dead Night Defiance“, released worldwide through Fireflash Records on September 25th.
Rather than telling a traditional story of heroes and villains, “Fallen King” explores the idea of evil against evil, where no heroes remain. Set in the kingdom of pain, the song follows two ruthless forces locked in a merciless battle for the throne, proving that in a world consumed by darkness, victory belongs not to the righteous, but to the one with the strongest will to conquer and rule.
“This wasn’t just about making a music video. It was about bringing another chapter of our world to life, using images that carry the same darkness, atmosphere, and emotion as the music itself. I like our videos to be straight to the point, capturing the same energy we deliver on stage while telling the story through visual metaphors. For ‘Fallen King,’ the visual direction was inspired by the golden age of Heavy Metal videos, reimagined through our own dark fantasy vision. Every scene is meant to pull you deeper into the story and make you bang your head with us. All hail the King”, comments vocalsit Guilherme Sevens, who also directed the video clip and is known for his work with Queen, Metal Mike, Dave Evans from AC/DC, and Adagio. “Visually, we wanted to move away from the polished aesthetic of modern music videos and pay tribute to the classic Heavy Metal videos we grew up watching in the 1990s. That’s why we embraced a 4:3 aspect ratio, extensive black-and-white cinematography and strong Film Noir influences. The contrast between light and shadow mirrors the song’s central theme: evil against a greater evil. Every GARGANT video is another chapter of the same universe, and ‘Fallen King’ expands that mythology through a timeless visual language that feels both nostalgic and cinematic.
