SEES Premiere Lead Single ‘Tähden Varjo’ from Upcoming Album

Finnish post-metal newcomers SEES premiere their lead single, “Tähden Varjo” — the most progressive and exploratory moment from their upcoming debut studio album, “Suoja”, set for release on November 20 via Agonia Records.

“Tähden Varjo” — available now on all major streaming platforms (link) — is a sprawling, melancholic post-metal epic exploring a worldview built blindly on belief alone. As the album’s most progressive and exploratory moment, the track shifts through distinct, cinematic sections, expanding beyond its heavy core into wide sonic territories. Dynamic contrasts weave ethereal melodies with explosive walls of sound, combining emotional intensity and monolithic weight.

Lifted from “Suoja” (which translates to “shelter”), the song offers a glimpse into an album that is the outcome of years of distilled dedication – a definitive statement from a fresh band determined to leave its mark.

The core of “Suoja” is built on the dynamic interplay between aggressive heaviness and atmospheric soundscapes. Finnish lyrics, delivered mostly through screams, combine with distinctive and ambitious music to invite listeners to slow down, concentrate, and challenge themselves – a deliberate counterpoint to a culture of throwaway content and quick thrills.

SEES found its form as the album took shape, drawing on years of experience across different Finnish alternative acts. Working with producer Tuomas Kokko (Swallow the Sun, Ghost Brigade, Sara, Luna Kills, Timo Rautiainen & Trio Niskalaukaus, among others), SEES recorded and refined “Suoja” over an extended period, carefully fitting every piece into place.The band comments: “We are very excited to finally share Suoja with everyone. The process was long and shaped the band into what it is today: a hungry and motivated group looking to take the next step on its path. This is a showcase of our ambition and stubbornness, having gone through some volatile times to get an album we’re proud of out there.”

SEES (Finnish for “serene” or “calm”) was founded in 2024 by seasoned musicians (Surut, Junktone, Skein, Vala, Pofony). “Years of combined experience with released music and touring has clarified for us what we want to pursue with Sees,” reflects the band. “The core of our Finnish-language, scream-led music is built around the dynamics of aggressive heaviness and atmospheric soundscaping.”
