Finnish rap artist Kullervo surprises with his new single “Woah”. With the track, Kullervo takes a leap from more traditional rap straight into modern hip-hop, creating a magical sonic landscape where the rapping itself also blends seamlessly into an essential part of the track’s overall sound. An exotic touch is added by Kullervo rapping in Finnish.
With this track, Kullervo’s sights are firmly set on the future. “Woah” shows where his music is heading next.
“Woah” is also being released as a music video, creating a visual world of its own around the track. Directed by Väinö Parjanen, the ambitious video adds a new dimension to the song.

Kullervo’s artistic identity draws strongly from the traditions and culture of Ostrobothnia, a region in western Finland. This regional heritage has played an important role in shaping his music, attitude and lyrics. On “Woah”, however, Kullervo puts those traditions aside and focuses firmly on the present and the future, embracing a more modern and forward-looking sound.
The new single takes Kullervo another step closer to his debut album, currently in the works. There is already plenty of material for the album: he has released 11 singles as well as one EP.
