On September 18, JORDSJUK celebrated one year since the release of their Spellemann award-winning debut album, aka the “Norwegian Grammy Award”, with new vinyl and CD editions, and a new music video for the song «Rottebitt».
Since the release of «Naglet til livet», Jordsjuk have established themselves as one of the most exciting new names on the Norwegian metal scene. The album was awarded with the prestigious Spellemannprisen, in the category of Hardrock & Metal, and the band have performed a large number of gigs across Norway, including festivals such as Tons of Rock, Midgardsblot and by:larm.
With Inferno, Karmøygeddon and Hellbotn already announced for 2027, Jordsjuk continue to build their presence at home, while also turning their attention outside of Norway, with concerts in Denmark and Sweden, autumn 2026.
The new music video for «Rottebitt» shows Jordsjuk right in their element, on stage. The video was shot by Jordsjuk’s photographer Jørn Veberg, during the band’s album concert at Blå in Oslo, March 2026, and captures the energy and intensity that is a central part of Jordsjuk’s expression.
September 18 also saw «Naglet til livet» being reissued in new vinyl and CD editions, in addition to the band’s first release, the «Råtner på rot» EP (2024), being released on vinyl for the first time.
With a Spellemann Award-winning debut album under their belt, increasingly larger bookings, and an international audience in sight, Jordsjuk are well on their way to becoming one of the next larger Norwegian names on the metal scene.
And the band is already looking ahead, with a new album in the works, planned for release autumn 2027.

Jordsjuk has in a short time made a big impression on the Norwegian metal scene.
The debut album ‘Naglet til livet’, released September 2025, has been described as one of the best Norwegian debut albums in metal this decade, and in Jernverket’s selection of 2025’s best releases, Jordsjuk snatched 2nd place, out of 447 albums from Norway and abroad. In March 2026 the crowning achievement came when the band was awarded the prestigious Spellemannprisen, aka “The Norwegian Grammy”, in Hardrock & Metal.
Comprised of hardened musicians from the Norwegian underground, fronted by Mannevond on vocals, and songwriter Renton on drums, with Sagstad and Larsen on strings, Oslo’s Jordsjuk serves up a hellish blend of black metal, thrash, death, punk and rock. Riff-driven, catchy and straight-in-your-face, with lyrics steeped in desperation, destruction and decay – all brought forth in Norwegian.
The band already has numerous gigs to their name, with an appearance at Tons of Rock 2026, Norway’s largest festival, as one of the highlights, and it’s on stage their sonic violence truly comes to its right. For those who have seen them before, expectations are high.
