Following their first European headline tour in spring 2026 and, more recently, a headline tour across the United States in August and September, EIHWAR will hit the road again in February 2027 for a third tour in support of their new album Hugrheim.
Released in March 2026 via Season of Mist, Hugrheim opened a new chapter for the band that could easily be described as the “enfants terribles of pagan folk”. EIHWAR pushes its distinctive blend of Nordic folk, electro, fantasy and incantatory vocals even further, while keeping intact what has become one of the duo’s trademarks: a taste for chaos, mischief and sheer madness. On stage, their rituals are anything but solemn: there is dancing, pounding drums, shouting, laughter, games with the audience, and a pagan ceremony that willingly turns into one huge tribal celebration.

Named after the tenth, hidden world of Yggdrasil, Hugrheim builds a mythology of its own: ten tracks moving through named regions of an invented realm, sung in trance languages that surface intuitively and cannot be translated literally. At its centre are Mark and Asrunn themselves, cast as two spirits recovering fragments of memory from a former existence, incarnated in human bodies. It is a concept album that treats its own lore with total conviction, expanding a universe that already stretches to an illustrated map and a pseudo-historical text of its own.
After bringing this universe to stages including Hellfest, Wacken and Midgardsblot, and touring across Europe and the United States, EIHWAR will continue the adventure with 15 new shows across 8 European countries.
For this new tour, EIHWAR will be joined by Swedish band Hindarfjäll. Signed to Grimfrost Records, Hindarfjäll have released three albums, featuring guests including Peter Franzén (from the series Vikings) and Johan Hegg (Amon Amarth). Their music explores the rituals, ancestral knowledge and mythology of Scandinavia, where the band originates.

Ten tracks, one made-up world, and a straight face throughout: Hugrheim is EIHWAR‘s guide to the tenth, secret realm of Yggdrasil, a place nobody asked for but everybody now needs. Mark and Asrunn play it as two wayward spirits stumbling back into human bodies and piecing their memories together one trance-language incantation at a time, because regular lyrics were never going to cut it. There’s an illustrated map. There’s a pseudo-historical text. There is, in short, an entire fictional cosmology built with more care than most people put into their actual jobs, and it still finds time to make you dance.

The enfants terribles of Season of Mist and the pagan scene’s sacrilegious project, Eihwar, is an explosive mix of nordic folk and electro-industrial. Far from the ceremonial seriousness of most neo-viking bands, their wild, cartoonish style remixes Norse mythology with a Mad Max twist.
Last year confirmed that their minimalist electro setup can unleash joyful chaos among big metal festival crowds, with performances at Wacken Open Air, Resurrection Fest and Midgardsblot. Chosen by The Hu as the opening act for their French and German shows, Eihwar is quite a meteor strike for a band founded just two years ago.

All that remains are images, emotions, and fragments from our previous existence, mixed in with the thoughts and memories of our human hosts.
