Teramaze have never been particularly interested in following the rules — mainly because Dean Wells apparently never bothered to make any.
The band’s new single “Face Down” takes a very different turn, diving into country rock while still sounding unmistakably like Teramaze. Big guitars, strong melodies, attitude and a production that gives the song its own edge.
Dean explains where it came from:
“I was just playing around with the acoustic guitar and started writing something that I thought would sound great with that country-rock production. I sent it to my producer friend of 20 years and he helped me give it that edge, and the band did the rest.”
For Dean, that’s really what making music is supposed to be about.
“Music’s all about having fun and sometimes breaking your own rules. The funny thing is, I actually have no rules — other than trying to write a good damn song.”
