Berlin-based Katre have joined the Octopus Rising / Argonauta Records roster. Formed in 2014, the atmospheric post-metal band are known for building their records around strong narrative concepts, combining heavy dynamics with expansive post-rock textures and progressive elements.
The signing comes with the release of “Gaia”, the first single from Katre’s third full-length, Natura, accompanied by a new official video.
Natura unfolds across seven tracks, following a character forced to confront humanity’s relationship with the natural world and the destructive consequences of its perceived superiority. The album moves through grief, alienation, ancient memory and confrontation before reaching a point of reckoning and moral clarity.
Katre’s music has always been driven by narrative. Their 2017 debut Encounters explored human existence from conception and birth to self-awareness, while 2021’s Behind the Resilience followed a refugee family through war, displacement and the struggle to build a new life. Produced by Chris Edrich (The Ocean, Klone, Leprous), the album marked a further evolution of the band’s cinematic approach to heavy music.
With Natura, Katre turn their focus outward, delivering their most direct confrontation with humanity’s impact on the world around it.
The album was mixed by Terry Nikas at Zero Gravity Studios and mastered by Dinos Prassas.
Natura will be released through Octopus Rising / Argonauta Records.
