Norwegian technical death metal force CELESTIAL SCOURGE return with “Spherical Aberrations”, featuring guest vocals from Devin Swank of SANGUISUGABOGG. Taken from their upcoming second album “Exomia”, due on November 20, 2026 via Time To Kill Records, the track pairs the band’s intricate arrangements and tightly interlocked riffs with an added vocal ferocity. The collaboration adds another dimension to the record’s brutal, science-fiction-inspired narrative. With “Spherical Aberrations”, CELESTIAL SCOURGE offer a further glimpse of the album’s denser, darker vision.
The band comments:
“‘Spherical Aberrations’ is one of our absolute favorite tracks to play so far, and that’s even before we’ve had the pleasure to play it much live. It brings riffs upon riffs and holds nothing back. And to top it all of we got Devin Swank from Sanguisugabogg on this track to lay down some broootal vocals on the breakdown. This one for sure is a ripper and we hope to see yall circle pit your brains out to this live!”.

With “Exomia”, CELESTIAL SCOURGE refine the formula established on their debut, delivering a more aggressive and direct take on their technical death metal foundations. The new album places greater emphasis on the impact of the individual songs, combining devastating intensity with a stronger focus on memorable riffs and dynamic structures. While the band’s technical approach remains a key element of their identity, the compositions flow with increased immediacy, balancing complexity and accessibility without sacrificing heaviness.
The album features additional vocals on “Spherical Aberrations” by Devin Swank (Sanguisugabogg). The drums were recorded at Bridge Burner Recording and engineered by Ørjan Kristoffersen, while the album was recorded by Sindre & Hansi. Mixing and mastering were handled by Stefano Morabito at 16th Cellar Studio, with artwork and layout created by César Eidrian.
CELESTIAL SCOURGE comment:
“‘Exomia’ is the continuation of the story from the first album, but this time it’s more dense and grimmer than ever before. We follow the humans’ evacuation from planet Earth to their new home, a planet that looks to be deserted and empty from afar. This turns out to be far from the truth as soon as they land.”

Formed in 2021 by bassist Stian Gundersen, CELESTIAL SCOURGE quickly established themselves as one of the most promising names in the Norwegian extreme metal scene. Combining technical precision, crushing brutality and a fascination for the mysteries of deep space, the band delivers a modern death metal assault built on powerful riffs, complex arrangements and a relentless sense of momentum.
The group features musicians with experience in acclaimed underground acts such as Blood Red Throne, Deception, Ruun, Vorbid and Todesking, bringing together a wide range of influences and backgrounds. Drawing inspiration from the likes of Suffocation, Deeds of Flesh, The Faceless, The Zenith Passage and Cattle Decapitation, CELESTIAL SCOURGE merge the physical impact of classic brutal death metal with a contemporary approach to songwriting and atmosphere.
After introducing their cosmic narrative with debut album “Observers of the Inevitable”, the band returns with “Exomia”, a release that expands their vision both conceptually and musically. Sharper, heavier and more focused, the album represents a further step in the evolution of a band determined to explore the outer limits of extreme metal.
