Danish progressive metal innovators KINETIC return with a striking immersive journey into the heart of technological transcendence. Directed by Marcus H. Levin, the music video for “Digital Mind” offers viewers a harrowing glimpse into a future where humanity abandons its biological shell for eternal existence inside a virtual network. Blending technical precision with atmospheric depth reminiscent of heavyweights like Tool, Pink Floyd and Dream Theater, the band delivers a masterclass in cinematic storytelling that lingers long after the final chord fades.
“Digital Mind” is the third of three music videos from the band’s debut full-length album Liminal, which was just released on October 16, 2026 via Eclipse Records.
“As in the previous music videos, the video contains both obvious symbols and details that require a little more digging to uncover.” explains keyboardist Marcus. “ The central visual symbol throughout the video is the band itself gradually glitching and distorting digitally. This represents the slow transition from a physical state into a digital one, mirroring the transformation taking place within the story. At the beginning, the main character is seen looking through old photographs and memories. This represents him coming to terms with his decision to leave the physical world behind and upload his consciousness into the digital realm. The memories themselves begin to glitch, suggesting that the decision has already been made on some level – and that the digital world is beginning to lure him in.”
The modern progressive metal landscape thrives on ambition, yet few emerging acts possess the audacity to anchor a debut full-length album to the literal measurement of cosmic civilization. Having recently arrived on October 16, 2026, via Eclipse Records, Liminal represents a massive sonic leap forward from their well-received 2025 debut EP, Sentience. KINETIC has crafted a 106 minute masterwork that balances technical precision with expansive, atmospheric depth, signaling the arrival of a major new force in the international metal community. Liminal functions as a classic conceptual album, bound together by a coherent, overarching storyline that connects the first note of the opening track to the final fading echoes of the grand finale. Musically and lyrically, the band draws inspiration from the Kardashev Scale, a theoretical framework proposed by astrophysicist Nikolai Kardashev that measures the technological advancement of a civilization based on the amount of energy it can harness. Rather than conforming to predictable, verse-chorus modern song structures, KINETIC focuses heavily on cinematic arrangements and long-form compositions. This deliberate stylistic choice allows the music to evolve dynamically, ensuring that the sonic landscape mirrors the immense scientific and philosophical themes of the narrative. The band have released two previous music videos from this album for the songs “Evolution” and “Dyson.”

Liminal was produced, engineered, mixed & mastered by Frederik Uglebjerg (Galge, MØL, Trold, Isbjörg) and the album cover art was created by Lasse H. Görlitz & Marcus H. Levin. It was released on October 16, 2026.
